I’m Julie, a qualified and experienced counsellor dedicated to helping you uncover your inner strength, explore new perspectives, and create meaningful change in your life.
I work Monday to Thursday daytime and Monday to Wednesday evenings.
Sessions are 50 minutes and are £55.
About me and my therapy practice
When life feels overwhelming, do you find yourself pushing your feelings aside and just carrying on? Often when we ignore certain parts of ourselves, they can quietly shape our daily lives, sometimes in ways we don’t fully understand. You might feel stuck, anxious, or unsure of how to move forward. Maybe this feels familiar to you? Or perhaps you know exactly what’s troubling you but don’t know where to begin.
You don’t have to figure it out alone—I can help.
At different points in life, we can all feel overwhelmed. Even with the support of friends and family, there are times when talking to a professional counsellor can make all the difference.
I often work with parts of self, exploring the internal conflicts that can keep us feeling stuck. Through gentle reflection and challenge, I will help you understand what’s happening beneath the surface and what you truly want. Together, we can find new possibilities, helping you feel more at ease, less anxious, and more connected to yourself and those around you.
You may not know it yet but feeling safe in therapy is extremely important! From the moment you walk through my door I have your safety in mind, not only physically but emotionally. Safety means emotional regulation, pacing, and sometimes focusing on stabilisation before deep work. It is important that we go at a pace that feels manageable for you, and we will manage that together.
Practice description
My space is a place where you will be met with compassion, empathy, and confidentiality where you can explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences without fear of judgment. Building our relationship is at the heart of successful therapy, and the way I work is built on trust, care, and respect which provides all the right elements for you to start to heal. My goal is to help you gain clarity, confidence, and a deeper understanding of yourself, empowering you to make meaningful changes in your life.
I will help you to empower yourself and feel more like yourself—whatever that might look like for you.
I’m based in Kintbury, working from a peaceful therapy room in my garden, surrounded by beautiful countryside. There is plenty of parking available for you.

My first session
Taking the First Step
Reaching out for counselling can feel daunting, but I’m here to make the process as smooth and comfortable as possible.
When you first contact me, I usually suggest a brief initial phone call to discuss your needs and arrange your first session. Before we meet, I’ll send all relevant documents via email—this allows us to focus on what really matters in that first session: you.
What to Expect in Your First Session
Our initial session is an opportunity for you to share what’s brought you to therapy and to get a sense of how I work. We’ll explore what you’d like to focus on, and if you’re unsure, that’s completely okay—we can work together to figure it out.
We’ll also discuss what you’d like to gain from therapy and address any concerns you may have. If you feel comfortable after this session, we can arrange a regular slot to continue, but there’s no obligation—it’s important that you find the right counsellor for you.
Ongoing Support
To begin, we typically work together, weekly, for six weeks, allowing time to build a strong therapeutic relationship. I will the check in with you to make sure that you are feeling comfortable and the therapy is on track. I work in an open-ended way, meaning you’re in control of how long we continue, and I’ll regularly check in to ensure therapy is working for you.
I currently offer face-to-face sessions in Kintbury, with Zoom sessions available if needed.
If you’re ready to take that first step, I’d love to hear from you.
