About me and my therapy practice
I am an integrative psychotherapist and counsellor offering weekly sessions to individual adults. I have experience in working with a wide range of issues including: anxiety and stress; depression and loss; neurodiversity; low self-esteem; parenting worries; family and relationship problems; pregnancy and fertility; identity issues; and life transitions.
My consulting room is on Balham Hill in SW12, within five minutes' walk of Clapham South Underground Station on the Northern Line, and around 10 minutes' walk from Balham Underground and Rail Stations.
I am a registered with both the Íø±¬ÃÅ and the UK Council for Psychotherapy. I have a Foundation Certificate in Psychotherapy and Counselling from Regent's College, an MSc in Therapeutic Counselling from the University of Greenwich, and a Post-Graduate Diploma in Advanced Clinical Practice in Psychotherapy and Counselling from the Minster Centre. I have completed specialist training in neurodiversity-informed practice. I also have a PhD in English and an MSc in Psychology.
Practice description
As an integrative psychotherapist and counsellor, I draw on various therapeutic approaches and tailor the work to each individual's needs. The foundation of my practice is a warm relationship within which I hope you will feel safe to explore whatever is troubling you.
Sometimes it can be helpful to look at past experiences and relationships. Perhaps you have a sense of patterns and themes which keep recurring in your life today. Psychotherapy offers an opportunity to look at these patterns in a non-judgemental way and to explore the possibility of change.
You may also have questions about aspects of your history and your current life which suggest neurodivergent traits (related to autism or ADHD, for example). Neurodiversity-informed psychotherapy can be helpful if you are beginning to make sense of yourself through a neurodiversity lens or have questions about whether this might be relevant to you or to someone close to you.
My first session
When you contact me, I offer a short initial phone call for which there is no charge. This allows me to find out more about your wish to seek therapy at this time, and for us to think together about whether I am the right person to help you. The next step is an initial consultation, in which we explore these matters further. If we agree to work together, we will continue to explore whatever feels most important to you each time we meet, whilst also keeping your over-arching concerns in mind. What I can help with
