About me and my therapy practice
I have been practicing as a transpersonal therapeutic arts counsellor since 2013, helping people to heal, explore, and transform through the power of art. My work spans private practice, schools, hospices, and community-based workshops, where I support individuals in processing trauma, grief and shame.
I offer a compassionate, non-judgmental space for you to explore your feelings and begin your journey of transformation. Art offers a unique path to reconnect with our subconscious selves, a space where we store emotions, memories, and experiences that often impact our conscious lives.
The beauty of this approach is that no artistic experience is necessary. It’s the meaning you find in the creative process that matters, not the outcome. Art becomes a personal conversation between you and your creative expression, helping you to unlock your emotional truths and discover a path forward.
Art therapy provides a powerful, non-verbal outlet for self-expression. It allows you to process feelings that may be hard to articulate and brings them into the light where they can be acknowledged and transformed.
Art therapy can help address a wide range of emotional and mental health issues, including:
Trauma & Post-Traumatic Stress; Grief & Loss; Shame & Self-Worth; Addiction & Recovery; Anxiety & Stress Management; Depression & Bipolar Disorder; Childhood & Developmental Issues
Practice description
I offer a compassionate, non-judgmental space for you to explore your feelings and begin your journey of transformation. In our sessions, we work with a variety of artistic mediums—using colour and form as the tools for healing.
Through the artistic process, we explore unresolved emotions that might have been difficult to access or express verbally. The artwork becomes a mirror, offering insight into the emotional and psychological states that shape your life. Unexpected sparks of insight often arise during sessions, helping you to move beyond old patterns and embrace healing.
The creative process is gentle yet powerful. Whether you're making marks on paper or working with clay, each step of the journey allows you to release what no longer serves you, giving you the space to heal and transform. As you engage with your own creativity, with guidance you begin to see your life and your challenges from a fresh perspective. The colours, shapes, and textures that emerge on the page can offer surprising insights, guide you through difficult emotions, and empower you to take the next step on your journey.
Each therapeutic arts session is individualised to meet your needs. The beauty of this process is that it’s not about achieving a perfect piece of art; it’s about expressing and discovering what’s hidden beneath the surface.
You do not need any previous artistic experience. The creative process is for everyone—whether you're an experienced artist or someone who’s never picked up a brush. The goal is not to create a finished product but to engage with the healing potential of creativity. Your art becomes the mirror through which you explore your inner world.
In our sessions, we work in a safe, nurturing space where you can express yourself freely, without judgment. The art you create will be unique to you and will guide you on your personal journey of transformation.
