About me and my therapy practice
Hello, I'm Vanessa, a therapist and coach with over 2,000 hours of client experience. I offer counselling and coaching, or an innovative approach that uses both.
This means that as well as helping with issues affecting you in the present, perhaps due to the past, I can also support you in making changes for the future. In other words, we work together to build strong foundations before moving forward.
I keep up to date with psychology research to make sure I’m offering the best practice to my clients. I have an MSc in Integrative Counselling & Coaching and have published research on treating anxiety in a peer-reviewed journal. I specialise in anxiety, in particular helping people to get to the root of it and managing it. I also specialise in improving self-confidence.
Additionally, I can support those who are overwhelmed by the uncertainties and complexities of the wider world, such as political and economic instability, conflicts and climate change.
Clients have described me as warm, compassionate and non-judgemental, with a bit of humour thrown in! Please see my website for further information and client testimonials.
Practice description
As an integrated therapist-coach, I draw from a range of different approaches from counselling, psychotherapy and coaching psychology. This gives me the best possible opportunity to adapt to you and what you’re bringing, rather than you having to adapt to a single approach that I might have trained in.
Sessions can take in the privacy of your own home via Teams, Google Meet or by phone.
I believe that it's important to shop around to find the right therapist. If you would like to find out more about me and how I work, please get in touch to set up a free, no-obligation 30 minute chat.
My first session
In our first session, you will find a warm, relaxed, non-judgemental environment. I don't use a long form to ask questions, but will instead gently ask you about yourself and your life. We'll take it from there at your pace.
Beyond the first session, we’ll agree how often we meet. To start with, we might meet weekly and as time goes on, we might space out the sessions. I prefer to offer flexibility and not work to a set number of sessions.
What I can help with
Anxiety, Career coaching, Cultural issues, Depression, Development coaching, Executive coaching, Identity issues, Life coaching, Loss, Menopause, Neurodiversity, Personal development, Redundancy, Self esteem, Stress, Vegan allied, Women's issues, Work related issues
Types of therapy
Behavioural, Brief therapy, CBT, Cognitive, Emotionally focused therapy, Existential, Humanistic, Integrative, Person centred, Psychodynamic, Solution focused brief therapy
