About me and my therapy practice

Hi, I’m Cheryl, thank you for being here.

Life can feel overwhelming or lonely, even when we’re not alone. I’m a warm, supportive therapist who offers a calm and respectful space where you can talk freely, whether you’re navigating grief, trauma, or something harder to name.

I specialise in death, loss, and complex trauma, with additional training in supporting people through long-term, often hidden experiences of pain. Therapy with me is always at your pace, nothing is too big or too small to explore.

I offer affordable, confidential counselling in Verwood, as well as online or telephone sessions if that’s easier or more comfortable for you.

This is your journey. If you think I might be able to help, I offer a free introductory phone call to talk things through and see if working together feels right for you.

Practice description

Counselling offers a space where you can be open, honest, and fully yourself.

That kind of openness doesn't always come instantly, it’s something that can grow over time, especially when you feel understood and accepted.

The relationship we build in counselling is centred around trust, warmth, and respect. It’s a space that’s just for you, where you can talk freely, without pressure or judgment.

One of the unique things about counselling is speaking with someone who’s outside your day-to-day life. I’m here to listen and support you, without any personal agenda or expectations

My first session

Our first session is an opportunity for us to get to know each other.

We’ll explore what brings you to therapy and what you hope to gain from the process. It’s also a space for you to ask any questions you may have and to get a feel for how therapy works, at your own pace. This initial meeting can help you decide if you feel comfortable and supported moving forward.
