About me and my therapy practice

Evenflow Therapy offers bespoke therapeutic services for adults, children, and young people. Founded by Ailsa Smith Thompson, an experienced MÍø±¬ÃÅ (Accred) integrative psychotherapeutic counsellor.

Many people seek a safe, non-judgemental space to explore difficult feelings, behaviours, or life experiences. Integrative therapy combines approaches from various schools of thought to meet each individual's needs, helping with issues such as trauma, anxiety, depression, grief, low self-esteem, and stress. It is also valuable for those seeking personal insight or growth without a specific presenting issue.

A strong and trusting therapeutic relationship is central to effective therapy. When you feel seen, heard, and respected, you are better able to explore difficult emotions and experiences. Alongside talk therapy, creative methods such as drawing, painting, play, metaphor, and imagery are offered as additional avenues for self-expression and understanding.

EMDR therapy is available for processing trauma and "stuck" memories, helping clients work through challenging thoughts, emotions, and sensations.

Evenflow Therapy also offers tailored services for individuals in the creative industries, with consultation from Dr. Adam Ficek, a leading expert in music and mental health. Based in the vibrant North East, we provide a nurturing space for self-discovery and emotional wellbeing.
