About me and my therapy practice
I am a Person-Centred Counsellor working with adults and young people.
My approach is grounded in empathy, acceptance and genuine curiosity about your experience. I offer a calm, reflective environment where you can explore your thoughts and feelings at your own pace. Together, we work towards increased understanding, emotional clarity and personal resilience.
I came into counselling following a significant and challenging event in my own life, which gave me a personal understanding of how difficult it can be to navigate uncertainty, distress and change.
This experience informs my work and allows me to approach clients with authenticity, empathy and respect.
Before qualifying as a Counsellor and Psychotherapist, I worked for many years in industry and also volunteered in the charitable sector, supporting vulnerable individuals.
These roles strengthened my appreciation of the varied pressures people face and the importance of having a safe and supportive space to talk.
I offer support with a range of concerns including anxiety, low mood, low self-esteem, ADHD, relationship challenges, bereavement, self-harm, suicidal ideation, anger and the impact of trauma.
My aim is to help you develop insight, strengthen your sense of self and move towards meaningful, sustainable change.
Practice description
Alongside my private practice in East Kilbride, I also work as a Counsellor within a large secondary school, supporting young people aged 11–18.
At my counselling room in East Kilbride Old Village, I offer in-person counselling sessions which can be either short- or long-term.
There is ample car parking space in the area and easy access to the local train station and bus services.
Please note the room is located on the second floor and currently does not have lift access.
If you would like to discuss your needs and get a sense of how we might work together, I offer a short introductory phone or online call and respond to all enquiries within 24 hours.
Best Wishes
Colin
