About me and my therapy practice
I am absolutely passionate about providing a safe and creative space for you to transform to a life of your choosing, no longer driven by fear. Many of us come to therapy feeling stuck, disconnected or lost without a clear way out. We perhaps have accessed help previously but feel we have hit the ceiling. We may know in our bones, there is more to life but unsure of how to get there. Aware of certain patterns holding us back but without a means to moving through them. Somatic therapeutic coaching provides a way to reconnect and reclaim our innate wisdom to find a way through. Not to just 鈥渉eal鈥 but to live life as it was always meant.
Somatic psychotherapy engages both the mind and body to facilitate healing and transformation. I will guide you within, tapping into your inherent bodily wisdom and intuition to locate what was always there. We will find a way to work through patterns that no longer serve us, whether that is in relationships, work or to ourselves, not just on a cognitive level but by finding ways to express through our body and complete the survival responses holding us back. Through introspection and dialogue, we unravel the patterns contributing to your pain, empowering you to make conscious choices and reclaim your authentic self.
Although at times this may feel exposing and tough, I will always work at a pace to suit your needs, rebuilding a strong sense of safety within. For it is in relearning how to feel, we open ourselves up to greater capacity for expressing our true selves and experiencing the magic life has to offer.
I am a true believer in this work and remain passionate about providing quality care with my inherent belief in my clients capacity for real lasting change.
Practice description
In my practice, I tailor my somatic therapeutic approach to suit each individual's unique needs. Theoretically I draw from a blend of IFS, psychodynamic, existential, and polyvagal theory. However, as a somatic practitioner, one of the main aspects of our work will be rebuilding relationship to the innate wisdom held within your body. In doing so, we find ways to work with your unique nervous system to express what has previously been locked away. Whether this is through movement, music or sound. Holding space to work through difficult or painful emotions and transmuting them back to your vitality. By fostering a collaborative process that honors the mind-body connection, I aim to support you on your journey towards healing, self-discovery, and personal growth.
I will bring my expertise and experience from 11+ years in this field into our sessions, offering a blend of compassion and challenge, creating a safe space for exploration and growth. I see you as your own unique person, with your own unique experience and therefore your own unique way through. I will hold space to meet you and your needs and work creatively to work through what comes up. Together, we will unravel the knots within, nurturing the seeds of healing and transformation.
I bring my full, human self into the room, recognising the most profound aspect of therapy is the space we create together, as two humans sitting together in a safe, open and honest environment. I take good care of my own system, tending to my unique body and cycle, knowing this is vital in order to support you as best I can. I love music, dancing, new experiences, yoga, saunas, the beautiful people I come into contact with and new experiences.
My first session
For the first session, I offer a full hour to start the process of understanding you and your background. I will send out a questionnaire prior to the session as a prompt for areas we will look at. Alongside this, and just as important, the first session is also a space for you to get to know me and how I work. It is important for you to feel I am someone you can talk to, connect with and ultimately begin to trust (which in itself can often bring up fear). The first session will gives us chance to asses your needs, both from what you would like to get out of our sessions and also on a practical level when would be good to meet, the frequency and any other requirements you may have.
