About me and my therapy practice
I work with a range of clients. I do have a focus in working with clients who have lived with difficulties for much of their life and in their middle age feel that they would like their living experience to be better. They have experienced a lot in life and want to find some resolution and peace.
I provide an open space to talk about life, problems and also hopes. We work together to reframe the past, find ways to heal, and build resilience for the future.
Practice description
My approach is focused your needs. I normally suggest a number of weekly sessions (6-12); after this there are options depending on need and affordability etc.
I adopt tried and tested approaches, using a combination of straightforward techniques. I work collaboratively, respecting, that you have the best knowledge of yourself, I can bring new perspectives and understanding.
My first session
The first session will involve a more detailed conversation about your issues, your life, your relationships and your hopes.

About me and my therapy practice
One of my guiding principles for counselling is to encourage and build autonomy and resilience in my clients.
With the each client I explore their issues alongside their ideas about how they would like things to be. We jointly explore their experiences in life and how and when their issues presented themselves.
Between us we look what could have driven the current mix of behaviour, thinking and feeling. Relief and healing comes from being able to talk and express feelings, building self awareness and understanding; trying new ways of thinking and behaving; and re-integration.
This happens generally in cycles. How far / deep we get is different for each client and guided by them.
In my Newbury practice I offer counselling for adults of all ages (16+). I have helped clients with a broad range of issues and generally those who have lived a long time with difficult feelings.
I create a safe place to talk, discuss and find or develop their purpose; growing in self worth and self acceptance.
I offer both short and long term work. Usually starting with 6 weekly sessions.
My standard fees are set for affordability (increasing in April) with a reduced rate for the lower paid.
Please contact me in the first instance by email for a FREE CONSULTATION.

Practice description
I combine evidence based approaches to the treatment of mental health conditions within a supportive and safe environment.
Through exploration and curiosity, I explore with clients their current experiences and the roots of their issues, difficult feelings and behaviours. Then we find ways to re-appraise, adjust, revise, change perspective and come to terms with things.
I use simple and accessible models with clients to help them to understand, without judgment, what may be happening for them and how through working together they can change things.
Each therapy journey will be specific to the person, the issues, the identity and the aims.
