About me and my therapy practice
My name is Antony Constantinou. I am a trained Íø±¬ÃÅ-registered Psychotherapist, couples counsellor, and clinical supervisor who works from my consulting rooms in Fulham, Surbiton, and Farnham. I also work online on Skype, Zoom, and Teams.
I studied Psychodynamic Counselling at London’s Birkbeck College University and then went on to train In Integrative Counselling at Middlesex University. I undertook further training in psychodynamic psychotherapy at Tavistock and Portman and completed training in couples counselling at the Surrey counselling training. After extensive experience within the NHS, charity, and private sector, I established myself in private practice.
I continue to train and commit to continuous personal development to keep up with the code of ethics set by the Íø±¬ÃÅ. I then undertook many pieces of training such as psychodynamic clinical assessment, drug and alcohol abuse, Trauma studies, anxiety and depression and personality disorders.
I have worked in the Fulham area for over five years, meeting people from all walks of life. Before this, I established my practice in the Covent Garden area of London, where I met with people who worked in the city and beyond. In addition to my clinical work in private practice, I provide professional consultation, group counselling, and health assessments within the private sector.
Practice description
Why Counselling and Psychotherapy?
In my therapy practice, I work with individuals facing a wide range of challenges, including anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, and feelings of being stuck. Many clients seek my support during significant life transitions, such as marriage, pregnancy, parenthood, relocation, divorce, career changes, or illness. These moments often bring heightened stress and a need for effective emotional management.
As a psychodynamic counsellor and psychotherapist, my approach is rooted in the understanding that our past experiences significantly shape our present thoughts, emotions, and behaviours. Together, we will explore the complexities of your inner world, identifying and connecting unhealthy, repetitive patterns to earlier life experiences. This exploration will empower you to make positive changes and healthier decisions, reinforcing your confidence and resilience.
Building a therapeutic environment characterised by honesty and authenticity is vital to my work. I recognise the importance of trust in our therapeutic alliance and am committed to maintaining transparency and congruence in our interactions. This foundation allows us to create a safe space where you can delve into the deeper dynamics of your psyche.
Through our sessions, you will gain insight into the unconscious influences that shape your life, facilitating personal growth and transformation. As your therapist, I guide you through this process with empathy and respect for your unique experiences, acting as a vessel for change.
Counselling and psychotherapy from a psychoanalytical perspective can illuminate the underlying dynamics that drive your behaviour, enhancing your self-awareness and resilience. We will embark on a journey toward healing and self-discovery within a supportive and collaborative atmosphere.

About me and my therapy practice
I offer supervision to counsellors and psychotherapists who have an interest in developing a psychodynamic understanding of their clinical work on a one-to-one basis.Practice description
My approach to clinical supervision draws from psychodynamic theories and principles. It involves a dynamic and reflective process where I aim to guide and support you in exploring the therapeutic relationship's unconscious functions, emotions, transference, and countertransference dynamics.
Through in-depth discussions, case reviews, and exploration of inner experiences, I will encourage your self-awareness, deepen your understanding of client dynamics, and promote effective interventions. I aim to focus on your personal development while helping you navigate emotional responses and biases and fostering a deeper understanding of how these factors can influence the therapeutic process. Ultimately, psychodynamic supervision contributes to the counsellor's growth, skill refinement, and the delivery of more nuanced and insightful interventions.
