About me and my therapy practice
I’m a Bristol-based, online-only specialist psychotherapist with 30+ years’ experience. I specialise in working with adults—often high-functioning on the surface—who carry the impact of childhood trauma/complex PTSD (CPTSD): anxiety, low mood, shame, overthinking, perfectionism, people-pleasing, burnout, dissociation and difficulties in relationships. If this is you, therapy with me is calm, structured and human.
My approach is trauma-informed, attachment-based and relational. We move at your pace and prioritise safety.
Typically we work in three phases:
(1) stabilise and regulate—grounding skills, nervous-system, resourcing and boundaries;
(2) make sense of the past—how experiences shaped beliefs, emotions and patterns in the present;
(3) integrate—practising new ways of relating to yourself and others so life feels steadier, clearer and more connected. You decide what you share and when; there is no forced disclosure. I offer straightforward language, gentle challenge where helpful, and practical tools you can use between sessions.
Sessions are 50 minutes, usually weekly at a consistent time so the work feels predictable. I provide clear contracts, transparent fees and GDPR-compliant practice (confidentiality with standard safeguarding limits; brief clinical notes stored securely). Between-session contact via email is encouraged, so the therapeutic work stays contained and safe.
I work with adults across the UK via secure encrypted video.
Many clients appreciate the privacy and accessibility of online therapy—no travel, more choice of times, and the ability to create a safe, familiar space at home.
There is a free, no-obligation consultation, If you’re ready to begin, we’ll take the first step together and go at a pace that respects your nervous system and your story.
Practice description
I specialise in working with adults carrying the long shadow of childhood trauma/complex PTSD (CPTSD)—often high-functioning on the surface yet anxious, exhausted or disconnected inside. Common patterns include overthinking, perfectionism, shame, hyper-independence, people-pleasing, dissociation and difficulties in relationships.
My approach is trauma-informed, attachment-based and relational. We prioritise safety and consent; there is no forced disclosure. Together we’ll map how your history shows up now—triggers, body cues, beliefs and relational patterns—and create steady conditions for change in the present.
In sessions you can expect a calm, clear, boundaried space, plain language and gentle challenge where it serves you. We’ll work with regulation and pacing, grounding, boundary-setting, shame-sensitive self-compassion, mindful attention to the nervous system, and (where helpful) working with different parts of self. Goals are collaboratively set and we review pace and impact as we go so the work stays safe and useful.
Over time, clients often describe more steadiness and capacity, less reactivity, clearer boundaries, a kinder inner voice and more connected relationships. I don’t offer quick fixes or guarantees; I offer a reliable, human partnership that respects your story and moves at your pace.
I practise within the Íø±¬ÃÅ Ethical Framework, with regular supervision and ongoing trauma-specific CPD. Confidentiality applies with standard safeguarding limits.
