About me and my therapy practice
My approach is warm, relational and non-judgemental, offering a safe, confidential space to talk, explore and begin to make sense of what is troubling you, through developing a deeper understanding of yourself in relation to others and the world around you. You may want to talk about what is presently happening in your life, feelings, memories, relationships, images, dreams... really, anything that comes to mind. Together, we may find links to your past that highlight difficulties in your present, allowing you to make more conscious choices in the future. You maybe experiencing anxiety, depression, relationship issues, family issues, abuse, feeling sadness, shame, anger, trauma or bereavement to name a few. Through coming to understand and know yourself better you may enhance your sense of wellbeing and feel more equipped to face life's challenges.
I am an experienced, psychotherapist and counsellor, a registered member with Íø±¬ÃÅ and UKCP. I chose to undertake a long, rigorous training in Transpersonal integrative psychotherapy as I believe a thorough grounding in this approach enhances work at a deeper level, aiming to work through the layers of current problems, encouraging personal growth. I use a range of therapeutic approaches these include: Humanistic, CBT, Psychodynamic (early life), Existential perspectives and Creative Imagination techniques (visualisation and drawings). I use these theories to offer each client their own unique requirements. I also work with the Police Firearms Officers Association.
You do not have to be have to be in a crisis to benefit from psychotherapy. Anyone who wants to understand themselves and their life will certainly benefit in attending sessions.
Practice description
An initial meeting offers you the opportunity to decide whether I am the right person for you at this time and enables me to consider how to best meet your needs. Many people find this experience of being listened to, without judgement, therapeutic in itself.
