If you need to talk I’m here to listen. I’m a friendly and approachable experienced counselling professional. How can I help you?

I offer highly effective Person Centred therapy online or by phone.

I work 1:1 with adult clients (18+) UK wide.

Sessions from 8am till 5pm. Limited evening availability.

Face to face sessions available in Bridgwater, Somerset.

What brings you here? Clients often reach out as they are facing issues they can't resolve on their own. This can result in a sense of being frustrated & stuck, anxious or depressed. We may be self critical which can impact self esteem and confidence. We can also be affected with overthinking and exhaustion. I'm sorry if you are struggling at the moment. I'll do my best to help you.

About me and my therapy practice

How can I help? As an experienced counsellor in private practice, I work with clients experiencing a wide range of issues. Person Centred therapy is flexible and highly effective, it takes account of our individuality and uniqueness. We all have our own individual story & experiences - along with the unique effect its had on us.

Person Centred couselling is not just about your internal thoughts and feelings. The whole of our lives have an affect on us - sometimes positive, sometimes negative. This type of therapy gives you the freedom to talk through any aspect of your life - say your relationships, career, home, finance or family.

I've supported a lot of clients dealing with work stress and burn out.

Family: I've had a lot experience with clients having issues in their family. Examples could be a family member experiencing: trauma, an accident, separation, estrangement, dementia, being a carer, waiting on a medical diagnosis/procedure, bereavement, work stress & burnout etc. You may be directly or indirectly affected by these issues.

Family relationships and expectations can be particularly challenging - we can love someone, but find it hard to get along with them. This can lead to tensions, arguments, divorce, inter-generational difficulties, blame, taking sides etc. There maybe past hurts and unresolved conflicts. We can be left entrenched feeling angry, resentful & at our wits end. Secondary emotions may leave us feeling guilty and angry at ourselves.

I've worked with quite a few expectant fathers who are anxious at the prospect of becoming a dad. Often they are encouraged to seek therapy by their pregnant partner.

Mothers worried about their sons - I've had plenty of mums getting in contact and arranging sessions for their sons (18+ as I work with adults). Women tend to be better at getting the help need for themselves and their loved ones. Men can find it harder to access support. Getting the right help at the right time can make all the difference.

Practice description

Counselling professional :

I’m a qualified Person Centred counsellor with over eight years full-time experience & a good track record of success. Registered with the Íø±¬ÃÅ, I am committed to working ethically to provide the highest standards of counselling for clients.

My values and character - Friend describe me as down to earth, caring and genuine.

I’ve always had a strong drive to help and heal people. I hate seeing any living creature in pain. It’s very rewarding to see clients making progress and having successful therapeutic outcomes. Its great to see someone smile and laugh again.

I bring to therapy 60 years of life experience, extensive training & experience, common sense, a selection of tools and techniques that may be useful, compassion and empathy.

Is this the right therapy for you?

Person Centred therapy can be highly effective for a client who wants to discuss, explore and understand. I believe that we all have great potential and more inner resources than we realise, but it can often be difficult to access this by ourselves. Person Centred therapy can help you gain new insights into your problems and how to solve them. I aim to help clients develop the ability to withstand adversity, effect positive change and bounce back from difficult life events. Clients often say they feel so much better to be able to offload - I wonder if you feel like that?

Clients often report feeling better when they recognise:

· A sense of progress

· Feeling heard and understood

· They work well with their therapist

· Gaining new coping skills

· Starting to experience positive changes in their life

· Feeling better able to manage their emotions and behaviour

· Feeling empowered and more in control of their life

One of the things I hear most often from clients is how good it is to be able to talk in confidence to an independent professional completely separate from family or friends - Often with a relaxing exhaling of breath...."I can just talk about how I really feel."

My first session

Getting started:

We get a chance to meet each other in our first session. It's a great opportunity to see how we feel about taking a therapeutic journey together. Collaboratively we'll look at how we work together - things like appointment times, how frequently you would like sessions, fees and confidentiality. I'd like to hear about what has brought you to counselling, and what you would like from counselling.

Supportive session atmosphere:

The atmosphere of our counselling sessions is friendly and informal. You’ll have a confidential & safe space where you can feel valued, heard, understood & accepted. I am by nature a good listener, empathic and non-judgmental. You choose what you want to discuss. You choose how much you want to share. We work at your pace. You'll have a place to offload, a space to vent.

Getting to know each other - Our initial session can be a useful opportunity to get a sense of each other. This is fundamental to therapy. I hope you will consider me the right counsellor for you. The more comfortable you feel with your counsellor, the better your therapeutic outcomes are likely to be.

Making initial contact: If you have read this far I want to reiterate I always do my best in supporting my clients to have the best therapy possible. It's not always easy reaching out for support, so bear in mind I'll do my best to put you at ease so you can start therapy.

I have an online session availability calendar accessible via my website. Its very straightforward to find a session and book using the online calendar with just a few clicks. My email is greenlodgecounselling@gmail.com . If you prefer to phone my number is 07824112573.

About me and my therapy practice

I'm a friendly and approachable Person Centred therapist. I provide counselling for adult clients on a one to one basis. If you need to talk and are looking for an experienced counselling professional, please do get in touch.

There maybe times in life where we face issues we can't resolve on our own. Clients often tell me how refreshing it is - & how much better they feel - being able to talk in confidence to a private counsellor. Having separation from friends and family can take the pressure off of the situation. Therapy is a place where we can discuss, explore and understand. This can help you make sense of your experiences, and how you feel about them. Rather than give you advice, I'll support you in developing your own unique  strategies and solutions to your unique situation. Therapy often feels like a journey. I take that journey with my clients with empathy, understanding and acceptance.

My values and character - I am by nature a good listener, empathic and non-judgmental. I believe it’s essential that you feel valued, supported, heard and understood.

I’ve always had a strong drive to help and heal people. I hate seeing any living creature in pain. It’s very rewarding to see clients making progress and having successful therapeutic outcomes. It's great to see clients smile & laugh again.

Being a counselling professional, I am a registered member of the Íø±¬ÃÅ. As a person centred therapist, I'll support you so that you can develop the right approach for your unique situation. I aim to help you strengthen your resilience and ability to cope, resolve inner conflict, and overcome obstacles.

If you need to talk I’m here to listen. I’m a friendly and approachable experienced counsellor. How can I help you?

I offer highly effective Person Centred therapy online or by phone.

I work UK-wide with adult clients (18+) on a one to one basis.

Sessions from 8am till 5pm. Limited evening availability.

Face to face sessions available in Bridgwater, Somerset.

About me and my therapy practice

Does any of the following resonate with you? Overthinking, tired, stuck, self doubt, not coping so well.... but with a sinking feeling that everyone appears to be getting it right, burn out, loss of joy and sense of humor, reduced problem solving ability, short fuse, anger (at the world, with others, with self), self criticism, self doubt, loss of self esteem, anxious, depressed. If so, are not alone. Client's often get in touch telling me they are living with many of these thoughts and feelings. I'm sorry if you are struggling at the moment. I'll do my best to help you.

As an experienced counsellor in private practice, I work with clients experiencing a wide range of issues. Person Centred therapy is very flexible and highly effective, it takes account of our individuality and uniqueness. We all have our own individual story & experiences - along with the unique effect its has on us.

Clients often ask "why do I feel like this?" Perhaps our distress feels more justified or legitimate if there is an obvious cause. Examples of this could be trauma, an accident, separation or divorce, family issues like estrangement, parents with dementia, waiting on a medical test/diagnosis/procedure, coming to terms with a medical diagnosis, stress at work, being bullied, being treated unfairly, loss etc . This could end up being a very long list!

Perhaps even more perplexing is mental or emotional distress, but not knowing why.  A lot of anxiety comes from the unknown: why do I feel like this? I don't know! What if.... it goes wrong? I lose my job? I get ill? I can't cope? etc etc. Again the list can be endless - which can cause a downward spiral of overthinking. I have helped a lot of clients to get a better understanding of themselves - why they think and feel as they do.

In our sessions you may find it immensely helpful to vent, offload & feel heard. I'd like to help you understand your situation, cope better, and find solutions to manage your feelings & improve your life.

Practice description

Counselling professional :

I’m a qualified Person Centred counsellor with over eight years full-time experience & a good track record of success. Registered with the Íø±¬ÃÅ, I am committed to working ethically to provide the highest standards of counselling for clients.

Your choice: of having sessions via Zoom or phone.

Is this the right therapy for you?

Is Person Centred therapy right for you? - Person Centred therapy can be highly effective for a client who wants to discuss, explore and understand.

Uniqueness and shared experience :

We all have our own unique story and experiences. Indeed, Person Centred therapy comes from a humanistic tradition which values each of us as the unique individuals we are. Additionally, I have often found common themes come up in the therapy room that may have affected many of us at one point or another - e.g issues around feeling overwhelmed, anxiety, depression, loss, bereavement, loneliness, work, stress, health, self esteem, being stuck, relationships etc.

I've worked with quite a few expectant fathers who are experiencing unexpected feelings at the prospect of being a dad. Often encouraged to seek therapy by their pregnant partner. I've supported men who may feel side-swiped by their own emotions.

Whatever the reason for therapy, counselling gives an opportunity to explore what is causing distress and help you find resolution. Clients often report feeling better when they recognise:

· Feeling heard and understood

· Gaining new coping skills

· Starting to experience positive change

· Feeling better able to manage emotions and behaviour

· Feeling empowered and more in control
