About me and my therapy practice

As a person-centred therapist, I firmly believe that each of us holds the answers to our own issues within. My role here is to help you recognise these and support you in working through them. I will aim to create a trusting counselling relationship throughout our sessions, where you can feel able to express your feelings in an empathic and accepting environment. Through this collaboration, our aim would be for you to gain a deeper understanding of yourself, in turn facilitating the change you are aspiring to achieve.

Practice description

Over the years, I have worked in various settings, including Counselling Agencies, Charities, Employee Assistance Programme and in High Schools. My work has covered a diverse set of peoples issues, ranging from trauma, bereavement and addiction, to relationship issues or any other aspects of life which may have become a burden. I recognise that each person who attends counselling has a unique set of circumstances and experiences and that nobody will fit neatly into any one category. My aim is to work together with you to establish a counselling relationship in which you feel safe and trusting enough to explore and work through the issues that are important to you.

My first session

Our initial session will give you the opportunity to assess if you feel comfortable working with me. Furthermore, we can discuss what has brought you to counselling, and how you would like to proceed.

Following on from the first session, the intention is to meet weekly, at the same time and on the same day. These sessions are in person, at a time that suits you.

About me and my therapy practice

I oer person-centred supervision to qualiîž±ed and trainee counsellors, available either face-to face in Edinburgh or online, depending on what works best for you. As a supervisor I offer a warm, grounded space where you feel safe to reflect honestly on your counselling practice. As a supervisor, I would want us to work together in a supportive and reflective manner, while still holding the structure and focus needed to explore your work in depth. Hoping that you’ll feel encouraged to bring your whole self-your questions, challenges, joys and doubts-into the room We’ll explore what is going well in your practice, what might feel stuck or uncertain, and how you’re experiencing yourself as a practitioner. For me, supervision is not just about supporting your work with clients, but also helping you to grow in conîž±dence, clarity and self-awareness as a counsellor. I am a person-centred counsellor with experience working with adults and young people in my private practice. I’ve also worked as a school counsellor in secondary education, and I continue to draw on this experience in my work with young people today.

If you ‘d like to explore working together, I’d love to hear from you.

You are welcome to get in touch with any questions or to arrange an initial session.
