About me and my therapy practice

Are you struggling with anxiety, relationships, low mood, lack of motivation, poor sleep, flashbacks or disturbing memories? Are you not sure who you can talk to?

It's not always easy to admit to ourselves that we need support in dealing with troubling thoughts and emotions caused by difficult life events. Even If we do, who can we turn to? We may not feel comfortable reaching out to family and friends and it may not always be possible.

That's where I can help!

I'm an experienced therapist, who offers a safe, supportive and confidential space, where you can explore the difficulties you're facing and we can work together to find a solution and a way forward that's right for you.

I believe that a trusting, collaborative, therapeutic relationship is the key to you achieving your goals through counselling.

I now offer EMDR, which is an advanced psychotherapy approach, shown to be an effective treatment for the symptoms of trauma.

It's my belief that everyone is the expert in their own world and that my role as a counsellor, is to be alongside you as you explore this world, safe in the knowledge that I will be there, without judgement and without an agenda of my own.

I am flexible and adaptable in my approach to help you get the most from your counselling.

Please get in touch if you would like to know more, or to arrange a free consultation.

Practice description

I believe that a trusting, collaborative, therapeutic relationship is the key to you achieving your goals through counselling.

I don't use a one-size-fits-all approach to therapy as I believe this is limiting and wouldn't recognise the individual needs of my clients. I do take a person-centred approach putting you, the client as the focus and the very centre of the therapeutic relationship. However I am flexible and adaptable in my approach to help you get the most from your counselling.

Being able to form a partnership where you feel safe and supported, is often the starting point for you to be able to understand and work through the difficulties you may be facing and the range of emotions these challenges may bring up.

It's my belief that everyone is the expert in their own world and that my role as a counsellor, is to be alongside you as you explore this world, safe in the knowledge that I will be there, without judgement and without an agenda of my own.

I won't direct you in what you should talk about, allowing you to determine the direction and content of the sessions. I will however help you focus in on thoughts and emotions that seem significant and support you as you challenge negative beliefs that may have been holding you back for years.

The aim is to find and address the root causes of the issues you are facing, as this lays the foundation for lasting change.
