About me and my therapy practice

We all need someone to talk to in confidence. You might be down, anxious, sad, rejected, confused, bereft, angry or struggling with something or someone. Life today is so frantic and demanding that it’s hard to find somewhere to talk where you don’t feel judged or criticised.

I am an experienced integrative Humanistic Psychotherapist and Counsellor, also a life coach with many trainings, including CBT. I believe being listened to, understood, and supported can help you deal with your problems. Sometimes you just need some space, some encouragement, even a gentle challenge, to make significant changes in your life.

Therapy is about making a relationship with yourself that is loving, forgiving and positive.

I am particularly interested in:

• Addictive issues

• Sexuality issues

• Anxiety, depression, stress, burn-out

• Confidence and self-esteem-building

• Decisions about having a baby/egg-freezing/adoption

• Relationship-building

• Finding your purpose, fulfilling your dreams.

I write self-help books and have been an ‘agony aunt’ and relationship psychologist in magazines, radio and TV, including ‘Big Brother’.

I work with individuals and couples and run workshops and small groups.

My Trainings:

I started with Family Planning and Rape Crisis, trained as a Holistic Life and Executive Coach. I was a peer counsellor, Teacher and FE and University Lecturer. I did an MSc Diploma in the Psychodynamics of Human Development (Jungian). I trained at Spectrum Therapy (Certificate in Counselling and Psychotherapy), for individuals and couples. I have also trained in CBT, anger management, childhood sexual abuse, sexuality, and Gestalt.

My books:

• The Anxiety Journal (Pan MacMillan)

• The Mindfulness Journal (Pan MacMillan)

• Change Your Life with CBT (Pearsons)

• How to say No (Amazon)

• Overcoming Addiction (Amazon)

• Stop Fighting About Money (Amazon)

• Birth Begins at Forty: Challenging the Myths of Late Motherhood (Amazon)

• Two Minutes Series: Confidence, Peace, and Sleep (Quercus)
