About me and my therapy practice
Being genuinely seen and heard can be life-changing. I offer a warm, grounded, and non-judgemental space where you can talk openly and explore what鈥檚 been difficult. My practice is trauma-informed, culturally sensitive, and rooted in compassion.
I provide online counselling and telephone therapy for young people (16+), adults, and older adults.
What I Can Help With:
I support people experiencing trauma, anxiety, depression, stress, bereavement, low self-esteem, identity concerns, and relationship or family difficulties.
Many clients come to me feeling torn between cultural expectations, family roles, and their own sense of self. I work thoughtfully with these tensions, offering a space where you can explore them safely and without judgement.
Inclusive and Affirming Practice:
I welcome clients from all backgrounds, including LGBTQIA+ individuals, people of diverse cultural heritages, and those looking for a South Asian counsellor or a therapist who understands cultural and generational complexity.
My Aim:
My aim is to create a therapeutic space where you feel safe, understood, and supported. Together, we can work toward greater clarity, emotional balance, and a stronger connection to who you truly are.
Practice description
My practice is shaped by trauma-informed counselling and an understanding that our stories live in the body as much as in the mind. Trauma often shows up as anxiety, overwhelm, hypervigilance, disconnection, or chronic tension long after the event. Together, we gently explore these patterns using a body鈥搈ind approach, helping your nervous system find safety, grounding, and regulation.
I don鈥檛 see therapy as fixing something 鈥渨rong鈥 with you. Instead, we focus on what happened, reclaiming the parts of you that have been silenced and making sense of your experiences within the realities of identity, culture, family dynamics, and community.
My Integrative Approach:
I work integratively, drawing on: Person-Centred Therapy, CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy), Motivational Interviewing, Solution-Focused Therapy, NLP, Brief Therapy and Trauma-Informed Practice.
Sessions are tailored to your needs, whether you're looking for short-term therapy, a single session, or deeper long-term exploration around trauma, self-worth, identity, or relational patterns.
Training and Experience:
I hold an FdA and BA (Hons) in Counselling and am completing an MA in Trauma-Informed Practice. My experience spans private practice, community organisations, women鈥檚 services, carers鈥 services, and creatively led therapeutic projects.
What Clients Say:
Clients often describe my style as warm, intuitive, and grounded, someone who listens closely to what is said and unsaid, and creates a space where you can show up as yourself, beyond the expectations placed on you.
My first session
I offer a free 30-minute online or telephone consultation so you can get a sense of how it feels to work with me. This is a gentle, no-pressure conversation where you can share what brings you to therapy, ask questions, and see whether my trauma-informed, integrative approach feels like the right fit for you.
If you choose to move forward, we will agree on a day and time for your first counselling session. Before we begin, you鈥檒l receive my counselling contract, which includes the boundaries we work within, how I protect your data, and the structure of the therapeutic relationship. At the start of the first session, we go through the contract together, giving space for any questions and forming a clear verbal agreement around confidentiality and safety. The contract remains open for discussion throughout your therapy.
Your first full session focuses on gently establishing safety, beginning to build trust, and finding a natural rhythm together. There is no expectation to share anything before you鈥檙e ready, sessions are always led by your pace, your needs, and your comfort. My role is to offer a grounded, attentive presence as we begin your therapeutic journey.
