About me and my therapy practice
My name is Martin, and I’m a BPC-accredited psychodynamic psychotherapist with many years of experience working with adults facing a wide range of emotional challenges. I provide a warm, thoughtful and confidential space to explore issues such as anxiety, low self-esteem, depression, loss, identity, and relationship difficulties.
I understand how daunting it can be to talk about deeply personal matters—especially if these experiences have been tucked away or never spoken about before. Therapy can feel like a big step, but it’s one we can take together, at your pace.
My style is gently curious and reflective. I take an interest in whatever is meaningful to you—your thoughts, feelings, dreams, metaphors, and ideas. Through this collaborative and creative process, we can begin to make sense of what’s troubling you, and help you feel more at ease with yourself.
Practice description
Welcome to my psychotherapy practice. I offer a confidential, compassionate, and reflective space where you can talk openly—perhaps for the first time—about thoughts and feelings that may have been difficult to express elsewhere.
As a psychodynamic psychotherapist, my approach focuses on helping you explore patterns in your emotions, relationships, and inner world. We may look at both present challenges and past experiences to gain a deeper understanding of what’s affecting you now.
Clients often come to therapy with feelings of anxiety, low self-worth, sadness, loss, or uncertainty. You don’t need to have a specific diagnosis or clear explanation—only the sense that something isn’t quite right, and a willingness to explore.
What You Can Expect from Me
You can expect a calm, respectful and non-judgemental environment. I will listen with care and curiosity, and together we’ll explore what’s going on for you. I work at a pace that feels right for you, and I understand that it may take time to feel comfortable.
My style is thoughtful and attentive—I don’t offer quick fixes or advice, but I do support you in developing insight, self-awareness, and emotional resilience. Over time, therapy can help you feel more at home in yourself, improve relationships, and live with greater clarity and confidence.
My first session
The first session is a gentle introduction to the therapy process. It's an opportunity for you to share what has brought you to seek support and to explore whether working together feels like a good fit. You don’t need to prepare anything in particular—just come as you are.
We may talk about what’s been troubling you, what you hope to gain from therapy, and any previous experiences you've had with counselling. I’ll also explain how I work and answer any questions you might have.
There’s no pressure to share everything straight away. The first session is as much about helping you feel safe and understood as it is about gathering information. By the end, we can decide together whether to continue with regular sessions.
