About me and my therapy practice
Hi, I’m Nicole — a Person-Centred Counsellor offering online sessions in a safe, confidential, and non-judgemental space.
I believe that you are the expert in your own life. My role isn’t to give advice or tell you what to do, but to offer a space where you feel truly heard, accepted, and understood. We’ll work at your pace, exploring whatever feels important to you, in a way that feels right for you.
Person-Centred Counselling is built on the belief — developed by Carl Rogers — that every person has the capacity to grow, heal, and move forward when the right conditions are in place. Life experiences, particularly those that shake your confidence or sense of identity, can make this feel hard. Through a relationship rooted in trust, empathy, and genuine connection, I aim to support you in reconnecting with your values, self-worth, and inner strength.
Whether you’re navigating grief, anxiety, depression, or simply seeking space to explore your thoughts and feelings, I’m here to walk alongside you. I’ll listen without judgement, reflect with care, and gently challenge where needed — always with honesty and compassion.
I work with both individuals and couples.
Sessions last up to an hour, and the number of sessions is entirely up to you. Everything we talk about remains confidential, and I follow GDPR guidelines to ensure your privacy is protected.
If you feel ready to take that first step, I’d be honoured to support you on your journey of healing and self-discovery.
Practice description
Person-Centred Counselling – Online Only. Face-to-face counselling can be arranged on request.
I work with individuals and couples.
I offer a warm, safe, and confidential space for you to explore your thoughts and feelings. While our sessions take place online, I’m committed to creating the same supportive and positive environment as you would experience in person. You are always in the driving seat of your therapy — my role is to follow your lead, supporting you in the way that feels right for you, and keeping our work focused on your personal goals.
One area I specialise in is bereavement and grief. Grief isn’t only about the loss of a loved one through death — it can also come from many other types of loss, such as the breakdown of a relationship, the loss of a job, a home, or changes in identity. Whatever you’re experiencing, I’m here to help you explore and make sense of your feelings at your own pace.
I’ve also worked with many clients experiencing anxiety. Anxiety can show itself in many different ways, and it often affects each person uniquely. My role is to listen carefully and walk alongside you as you untangle your experiences of anxiety and understand how it impacts your world.
I provide a non-judgemental and empathetic environment where you can feel heard, valued, and respected. Each session is designed to give you the space and time to work through your emotions in a way that feels comfortable and meaningful to you.
I’ll manage the session time so you can focus fully on what you want to work through. My aim is to create a space where you feel fully supported and free to express yourself.
While I am required to discuss cases in supervision, please be assured that confidentiality is a priority. No personal details or names are shared; supervision is simply to help me provide the best possible care for you.
If you’re seeking a supportive, understanding, and confidential space to work through life’s challenges, I’m here to help you navigate them at your own pace.
My first session
The first session will include completing some light paperwork and settling into the counselling process together.
We’ll go over a short referral form, and I’ll take a few additional notes about the areas you might like to explore in more depth. Some of these themes may already have been touched on in our initial phone or email exchange, but this session gives us space to explore them more fully.
We’ll also go through the counselling agreement (which will have been emailed to you beforehand), along with my privacy statement so you know how your information is protected.
As part of getting a clearer picture of how things have been for you recently, we’ll complete two short forms — the PHQ-9 and GAD-7 — which help identify how you’ve been feeling over the past couple of weeks. These are standard well being measures and include some directive questions, but we’ll move through them gently and with care. This usually takes no more than 20 minutes.
Once that’s done, we’ll have time to begin exploring what’s brought you to counselling and what you might like to focus on as we move forward.
You’re welcome to ask questions at any point — this is your space, and your comfort is important.
