About me and my therapy practice

I connect especially well with young people who are struggling to know who they are. They have a deep desire to be heard and understood, but can鈥檛 quite reach it or express it. They often feel 鈥渄ifferent鈥 or on the outside of things. These children tend to be highly sensitive, neurodivergent, or have been through something traumatic, and on a deeper level, they need a safe space to process it all, so their true self can emerge and they can find comfort and ease.

I鈥檓 one of the few men in this field of work, and I understand how important it is for children to have positive, caring, and sensitive male role models. I draw on a range of theories, including Attachment, Gestalt, and Transactional Analysis. I also work integratively with the arts, using metaphor and creative tools to gently access the subconcious.

If your child, or a child you know, is struggling, or simply needs a neutral, steady, kind presence to help them navigate what they鈥檙e going through, please do reach out. I'm here to offer a warm, grounded space, with room for some fun too! I would be happy to explore whether I might be a good fit through a free consultation, either here or via my website.

I also offer a mentoring service for teenagers, helping them discover who they are and what they want to do with their lives. Find out more about this at www.scrapsi.com.

Practice description

I can help your child to get to know their truest selves, through integrative arts and play, by doing so they will transform into a more grounded, open and connected young person. They will get in touch with their true emotions, and learn how to process them in a healthy way. I typically work with open ended session durations, but we can put a container to the work also e.g. 3 months.

I trained in Art Therapy, Attachment Theory, Gestalt and Transactional Analysis. Over the years I have learned to adapt to each client, and I am always developing professionally into other areas of learning, including NLP, CBT and most notably somatic work, which is now proving to be crucial to any human healing. I also incorporate mindfulness and meditations, should the child be open to it.

About me and my therapy practice

Alex is a 网爆门 Integrative Child Arts Counsellor with an MSc in Psychology and is a published academic.鈥 With over a decade of experience working with young people, Alex has consistently observed how, particularly teenagers, often feel lost in a world that appears daunting and overwhelming.鈥

鈥婬e offers an online service called Scrapsi, facilitating sessions to help teenagers discover who they are and what they want to do with their lives. Alex believes that realising dreams is possible, the hard part is working out what those dreams are. His approach is trauma-informed and deeply inclusive, especially to those who are neurodivergent, and from minority backgrounds, including LGBTQ+ and ethnic minorities.
