My intention is to be flexible in my hours to suit the needs of clients and myself as a working mother. We will discuss on a case by case basis what works best for us both and agree times. I want people to feel supported in their therapy, ensuring that times work for each person is the first step in that journey.
About me and my therapy practice
Through my experience with organisations such as Derbyshire Rape Crisis, Childline, Women’s Aid, and CAMHS, I have supported people during some of the most vulnerable moments in their lives. These experiences have shaped a therapeutic approach that is compassionate, relational, and responsive to each individual's needs.
I work integratively, with a strong foundation in person-centred values. I believe that when someone feels truly heard, safe, and understood — even if just for an hour — it can make a real difference. My sessions are led by empathy and connection; I aim to be a therapist in your corner, creating a space where you don’t have to carry everything alone.
That said, therapy is also a space for growth and reflection. When the time is right, I encourage exploration of thoughts, feelings, and patterns. Building therapeutic trust is key, and from that foundation, we collaborate on how best to move forward at a pace that feels right for you.
Practice description
My counselling style is informal, warm, and grounded in the belief that healing doesn’t have to be heavy all the time. Sessions are a space to explore, reflect, laugh, cry, and grow—whatever you need in the moment. I aim to create a relaxed, open environment where you can feel safe to be yourself.
Clients often tell me they appreciate the mix of depth and lightness in our sessions. There’s room here for humour, honesty, and real connection. If you're considering counselling, I invite you to reach out. The first step can feel daunting, but it’s also a powerful act of self-care. Together, we can explore what’s possible.
Whether you're navigating anxiety, grief, relationship dynamics, identity questions, or simply feeling stuck, we’ll work together to find what feels right for you. I don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all approach—your story, your pace, your process.
I work fluidly, adapting to your unique needs and presentation. While talking is central, it’s not the only tool we use. I often incorporate visual aids like charts, timelines, family trees, and creative exercises to help bring clarity and insight. These methods can make complex emotions or patterns easier to understand and work through.
From a more logistical standpoint, I want every client to know that sessions are always confidential. They are held in a supportive environment, whether that is in-person or online. I welcome individuals from all walks of life and am committed to creating an inclusive practice where diversity is respected and celebrated.
Lastly and most importantly. I want you to know that you will be met with kindness, flexibility, and empathy. I have and always will have a genuine interest in who you are.
My first session
The first session is a gentle introduction to working together. It’s a chance for you to share what’s brought you to counselling, ask questions, and get a feel for how I work. There’s no pressure to dive into everything straight away—we go at your pace.
I offer the first session at a reduced rate, as I see it as a mutual exploration: you’re deciding whether this space feels right for you, and I’m beginning to understand how best to support you. There’s no obligation to continue after this session, and you’re welcome to take time to reflect before booking further appointments.
Above all, the first session is about creating a space where you feel safe, heard, and respected. You don’t need to prepare anything in advance—just come as you are.
