About me and my therapy practice
I am a qualified, Accredited Cognitive Behavioural Therapist (CBT) with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (Íø±¬ÃÅ). As a Neurodivergent individual / Therapist I strive to work flexibly in ways best suited to your needs, i have a deep commitment to providing a neuro-affirming, inclusive, and respectful therapeutic space for neurodivergent clients. Whether you're autistic, ADHD, dyslexic, or identify with any form of neurodivergence, my practice is designed to honour and support your unique ways of thinking, feeling, and being in the world.
My approach integrates evidence-based CBT techniques with an understanding that neurodivergence is not something to be "fixed" — but rather supported, validated, and empowered. I work collaboratively with clients to adapt therapy in ways that are meaningful and accessible, avoiding pathologising language and centring your lived experience.
You won’t be asked to mask who you are here. Instead, you’ll find a space where authenticity is welcomed, and where we can work together to explore challenges, build coping strategies, and nurture your strengths — at your pace and in your way.
I also offer a 'walk and talk' style therapy which can be great for the clients who may struggle to sit still and attempt to focus, these sessions will be conducted in the outdoors, usually in and around the local nature reserve. There is no level of fitness required for this and the pace is set by you the client. These sessions are available once the therapeutic alliance has been established and at no extra cost.
The counselling process offers a safe and comfortable environment where you are able to explore the difficulties that are causing confusion or distress and assist with seeking a greater balance in life.
Practice description
The counselling process offers a safe and comfortable environment where you are able to explore the difficulties that are causing confusion or distress and assist with seeking a greater balance in life. It is impossible for any of us to escape life's challenges and the negative impact they can have on us, it's what we do about it that matters! Change is possible and with the right attitude and support you can overcome any difficulties.
I also offer a 'walk and talk' style therapy which can be great for the clients who may struggle to sit still and attempt to focus, these sessions will be conducted in the outdoors, usually in and around the local nature reserve. There is no level of fitness required for this and the pace is set by you the client. These sessions are available once the therapeutic alliance has been established and are completely optional and at no extra cost.
It is imperative to me that my clients feel valued and respected during our professional relationship. I believe the therapeutic relationship between client and therapist is fundamental therefore I offer a free 20 min introductory telephone session to allow a connection to be made (or not) at no cost to the client.
My first session
Your first session is a gentle starting point — there’s no pressure to say or do anything you're not comfortable with. It's a chance for us to get to know each other and for you to share (as much or as little as you like) about what’s bringing you to therapy.
We’ll explore:
What you'd like support with
Any goals, challenges, or questions you have
What has or hasn’t worked for you in the past
What feels safe, helpful, or unhelpful in a therapy space
Confidentiality and contracting
This session is also an opportunity for us to begin tailoring Cognitive Behavioural Therapy to suit your unique needs — including any communication preferences, sensory considerations, or adaptations that might help you feel more at ease. You’re welcome to take notes, bring a support person, use visual aids, stim, or ask for breaks — this is your space.
