I am available now to work online with parents who might want to explore setting up future sessions for their children aged under 16.
From November I will be offering sessions in a Kindergarten room at York Steiner School, Fulford Cross, York.
Anyone over 16 is welcome to contact me directly
About me and my therapy practice
My practice in York focuses on young people from kindergarten age to adulthood.
From November I plan to use a kindergarten room at York Steiner School. These are beautifully set up for play and exploration for the young child. They are also a very sympathetic environment for older children and young people having the facility for sand tray work, which is a very effective way of working with any age.
My approach with children and young people has an emphasis on hand work, using painting and drawing, colour and clay.
Practice description
My core training is as a Biographical Counsellor.
This is an approach that has grown out of Anthroposophy.
I am informed by many modalities, primarily Gestalt and Jungian.
I am a fully qualified and registered therapist with the Íø±¬ÃÅ, having additional training in child and adolescent psychotherapy and experience of working in education from kindergarten to university.
I abide by the Íø±¬ÃÅ ethical framework, monthly supervision, CPD and enhanced DBS.
My first session
Please contact me initially by sending an email or using the Íø±¬ÃÅ form on this page.
We can then arrange a free exploratory phone call for us to get to know each other a little. Time for you to talk through priorities, ask questions, tell me about yourself or your child if they are under 16.
Then take your time to see if it feels right to set up sessions (which can be either long term or short term).

*NEW LISTING*
Hello and thank you for visiting me, here in this directory and navigating the journey to find a therapist who is right for you.
It takes a lot of courage to ask for help and you have made the first step, which is perhaps the hardest.
It is normal to have times in life where we just can’t cope alone. When we feel too anxious to function. These are normal feelings but they don’t feel normal and can lead to a spiral of shame.
You have to begin with ‘You’ and take time and space for yourself. It is not an indulgence, it can be a necessity, something you need to do primarily for yourself but also for those you love and who love you. We are all born into a family system and wider culture and we have to find our own unique path through all this.
I have been a qualified practitioner since 2014 with core training in Biographical Counselling. I have worked as a counsellor voluntarily with York Mind and York Women’s Counselling and am just beginning to work online in private practice.
Practice description
I specialise in working with people with trauma, anxiety and depression and increasingly with neurodiverse people. I can accompany you on your journey and I will accept you totally, as you are right now and that you don’t have to pretend anymore.
Through the years I have been inspired by many different ideas and streams of thought and have come to realise that the most useful thing is to deepen the therapeutic relationship and to keep creating a place where you can be yourself.
I can offer a space where you can stop and turn inwards and feel safe to explore. I can accompany you and if you like guide you towards strategies that might be helpful, like writing, drawing and mapping for example and also mindfulness techniques, breath work and meditation.
I am committed towards working towards mental well-being as a life-long journey. I am part of the Little Hawthorn Foundation, a long term therapeutic community.
I am a fully qualified and registered therapist with the Íø±¬ÃÅ, having additional training in child and adolescent psychotherapy.
I abide by the Íø±¬ÃÅ ethical framework , monthly supervision, CPD and enhanced DBS.
My first session
The best way to explore whether I might be the therapist for you is first to send me an email, telling me as much as you feel you can about what is worrying you.
Then I will reply to your email and we can arrange a time to have an initial free phone call for you to tell me more about your feelings, thoughts, questions etc and see if it’s right to take the next step and set up sessions.
We will move at your own pace and in the way you choose, which can be therapy sessions continuing on the phone or zoom.
There are many ways to develop our work together and we will move at your pace and in the way you choose.
