About me and my therapy practice
As a therapist, my role is to create a confidential and supportive environment where you can explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences without fear of judgment. Rather than providing ready-made answers, I collaborate with you to help make sense of what’s happening and to discover paths forward that feel right for you.
I utilise an integrative approach, drawing from various therapeutic methods tailored to your specific needs. This may include:
- Psychodynamic therapy: Examining how past experiences and relationships influence your present.
- Attachment theory: Understanding patterns of connection and disconnection in relationships.
- Trauma-informed practice: Recognising the impact of trauma and working safely to alleviate its effects.
- CBT techniques: Identifying unhelpful thought patterns and developing healthier coping strategies.
My practice is also culturally sensitive. I acknowledge the significance of identity, culture, and background in shaping our experiences, and I ensure that these aspects are respected throughout our work together.
I believe therapy should be:
- Collaborative: We work together at your pace.
- Safe and supportive: A space where your voice matters.
- Practical and reflective: Helping you gain insight while also providing tools for everyday life.
Whether our work is short-term (a few sessions) or longer-term, my goal is to help you feel more empowered, less overwhelmed, and better equipped to navigate life’s challenges.
Practice description
I am a qualified and accredited psychotherapist with experience working in the NHS, cancer support services, and private practice. I offer counselling to adults facing a wide range of challenges, including anxiety, depression, bereavement, trauma, relationship difficulties, and the emotional impact of illness.
My approach is integrative and culturally sensitive, drawing on psychodynamic therapy, attachment theory, cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT) techniques, and trauma-informed practice. This allows me to tailor my methods to meet your individual needs.
I provide a safe, confidential, and supportive space where you can explore your experiences at your own pace, gain clarity, and develop healthier coping mechanisms. Whether you seek short-term or longer-term support, my goal is to help you feel less overwhelmed and more empowered in your daily life.
My first session
The first session is an opportunity for us to meet and explore how we might work together. I will invite you to share what has brought you to therapy and what you hope to achieve from it. We'll also discuss any important background information, your current situation, and your goals.
I will explain my approach, answer any questions you may have, and cover practical details such as confidentiality, session frequency, and fees.
This initial session is not about rushing into solutions; rather, it is about creating a safe and supportive space where you feel comfortable enough to begin. At the end, we can decide together whether you would like to continue.

About me and my therapy practice
You may be hurting as a result of early childhood trauma that has manifested in adulthood, and you may have tried to hide this from yourself and people around you for quite some time. It may be tough to express these thoughts to family, friends, or colleagues.
Perhaps owing to a lack of secrecy, apprehension about being judged, or a lack of understanding.
In this forum, you can explore delicate topics from the past or present that have yet to be resolved and are affecting you on a daily basis.
Practice description
Being from a Black & Minority Ethnic background, I understand that connecting with someone who doesn't share your appearance can be challenging. The lack of therapists who can relate to your cultural experiences or background may deter you from seeking therapy, particularly if you have endured childhood trauma that continues to affect you in adulthood.
I offer a secure and unbiased environment to delve into various cultural experiences.
I am a clinical and oncology counsellor specializing in assisting young adults and adults who are dealing with childhood trauma manifesting in adulthood, as well as those experiencing anxiety and depression. I provide psychological support before, during, and after cancer treatment.
My first session
I provide a complimentary Zoom consultation, after which we can arrange to continue our sessions online on Zoom.
We will establish a clear goal and treatment plan, and through regular reviews, we will stay focused on achieving your compelling goals.
The standard rate for sessions begins at £60.
