About me and my therapy practice

From the outside, life might look successful, but inside you may feel anxious, exhausted, or stuck in cycles of overthinking and self-criticism. Many of the people I work with are high-achieving midlife professionals who find it hard to switch off, who carry the weight of responsibility, or who quietly doubt themselves despite their achievements.

My style is direct yet compassionate. I’ll listen carefully, but I’ll also be honest, offering feedback and practical strategies you can try out straight away. Clients often tell me they value this balance of warmth and clarity: feeling understood, while also being encouraged to make changes that count.

I use Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT), both structured and evidence-based approaches. These help with anxiety, depression, trauma, perfectionism, and low self-esteem. In practice, this may involve identifying unhelpful thought patterns, experimenting with new responses, and building confidence in your ability to cope.

Therapy with me isn’t just about managing difficulties; it’s also about reconnecting with your strengths and values so that life feels more authentic, balanced, and fulfilling.

Practice description

I work mainly with high-achieving midlife professionals who, despite outward success, often feel anxious, burnt out, or weighed down by self-doubt. Many describe finding it hard to switch off, struggling with imposter feelings, or being caught in cycles of perfectionism and overthinking. Work stress, relationship difficulties, or unresolved trauma can add to this pressure, leaving life feeling overwhelming.

I have over 20 years of experience as a therapist, including more than a decade based in the City of London, where I supported professionals under intense demands. I am a BABCP-accredited CBT therapist and Íø±¬ÃÅ-accredited, with additional training in trauma, ADHD, low self-esteem, and perfectionism.

Clients often find that over time they feel calmer, more able to cope, and more confident in themselves. Some describe being able to finally set boundaries, switch off, and enjoy life again. Others discover a clearer sense of direction and approach work and relationships with more ease.

My first session

Your first session is an opportunity for us to get to know each other and decide whether working together feels like a good fit. I see this as a collaborative process; therapy works best when you feel comfortable with both the approach and the therapist.

In this session, I will invite you to share what has brought you to therapy and what you hope to gain from it. Some people come with a clear goal, while others simply know that life feels overwhelming and want support to make sense of it. Both are absolutely fine. Together, we will begin to clarify your concerns and priorities.

I may ask some structured questions to build a fuller picture of your situation, such as the difficulties you’re experiencing, your history with stress or anxiety, and any strategies you have tried before. This is not a test, but a way of ensuring therapy is tailored to your needs. If appropriate, I will suggest completing assessment questionnaires to help track progress over time.

The first session also gives you the chance to ask questions about how I work, what therapy may involve, and what you can expect from the process. I will explain how sessions are structured, what confidentiality means in practice, and how we can work together towards your goals.

At the end, you can decide whether you’d like to continue with further sessions. There is no obligation to commit beyond this point; it’s important that you feel confident and comfortable in your choice.
