About me and my therapy practice

Welcome to my profile.

Considering talking to a therapist is a highly courageous act.

Making the initial call, attending the appointment, allowing a stranger into your world, into those parts that hurt and have been hidden are acts of the brave.

As an experienced therapist my role is firstly to ensure I am the right fit for you. This means us both understanding what you need and agreeing that I’m the right therapist to do it.

Alongside my professional accreditations and counselling tool kit you will experience from me commitment, understanding, active listening, empathy and compassion from me. These are just some of the ingredients to make change possible.

.....then things will start to happen.

My first session

I offer a free 20-minute telephone call because it’s so important that I explore what you want and need.

Within this time, I learn what you hope to gain from therapy and hopefully you will gain a sense that I am the right therapist for you.

It is also an opportunity for you to ask any questions you may have about counselling and my style.

If it feels okay for you, at this point we can discuss the frequency of sessions, the likely number of sessions, whether you prefer face-to-face, virtual sessions or telephone session. We can then set some initial goals for therapy.

There is no charge or obligation if you decide not to go ahead after this initial phone
