About me and my therapy practice
I am an accredited and highly experienced counselling psychotherapist offering long and short term counselling to adults.
Sometimes we can feel overwhelmed by life's pressures and difficulties and this can cause problems such as anxiety and depression. Past or present issues can cause emotional turmoil and it can be difficult to make sense of life's puzzle.
I offer a space where you might be able to put some of the pieces back together and find a way forward.
I work integratively, meaning I can draw on different theories to suit each individual client, their needs and issues.
I am experienced in working with anxiety and depression as a result of either past trauma or current issues you may be facing such as bereavement, relationship difficulties or change of life circumstances.
I know from my own experience of therapy that it takes a lot of courage to take that first step. That’s why the initial consultation is a standalone session with no obligation to continue. It’s a chance to talk through your main issues as well as what you would like to get out of therapy. I can also answer any questions you may have and hopefully allay any fears. I will explain how I work and how I feel I can help you. If we feel I’m not the right therapist to support you, we can discuss other specialist options that might be better suited to your needs. After this session you can decide in your own time if you would like to book further sessions.
I’m happy to see trainee counsellors for either counselling or supervision at a reduced fee.
