About me and my therapy practice

 Hello, I'm Jenni.

Taking that first step toward counselling can be daunting, and I truly appreciate the courage it takes to reach out for support. With so many options available, it’s natural to feel overwhelmed—but finding the right fit is important. My hope is that this gives you a clear sense of what I offer as an Accredited Íø±¬ÃÅ Counsellor, supporting adults across Brighton, Hove, and Sussex.

Life can feel like an uphill climb. Whether you're navigating challenges in relationships, family, work, study, health, or finances, pressures can build and start to feel all-consuming. Each of us responds to life’s difficulties in our own way, but when problems—past or present—remain unresolved, they can manifest in overwhelming thoughts, emotions, and behaviours.

It’s common to feel guilty or pressured about not being happier. Many of us instinctively put others first, especially when loved ones rely on us. And while we know talking helps, we often hesitate to share our struggles, fearing we may burden those closest to us.

That’s where counselling can help. Whether you know what’s causing your distress or not, I offer a safe, confidential space where we can untangle your thoughts together. By listening with care and understanding, I can help you reframe difficulties, focus on your future, and reconnect with yourself.

I work with a wide range of issues, and you can find details in my profile. As an Integrated Humanistic Counsellor, I tailor therapy to your needs, respecting your unique experiences. You'll find kindness, support, and guidance as you learn to set boundaries and move forward with renewed confidence.

Using psychotherapeutic approaches designed to foster growth and self-awareness, I help clients explore patterns that may be keeping them stuck. Shedding light on unhelpful thoughts, feelings, and behaviours can open the door to new perspectives.

Whatever your situation, I'm here to listen and can be 'All Ears' for you.

Practice description

Since 2017, I’ve had the privilege of working in private practice through All Ears Counselling, having trained and qualified at the Wealden College of Counselling and Psychotherapy. In 2021, I gained Íø±¬ÃÅ Accreditation, further solidifying my commitment to ethical, effective therapy.

I support adults (18+) across Brighton, Hove, and Sussex, and believe counselling is valuable at any stage of life—there’s no upper age limit when it comes to seeking support.

Over the years, I’ve worked with a broad range of challenges, including bereavement, trauma, fertility and pregnancy concerns, relationship difficulties, anger management, stress, anxiety, and depression.   For a more detailed overview of the areas I can help with, please visit my profile.

A meaningful part of my journey has been my time with Oscar’s Wish Foundation, where I provided counselling to families navigating the devastating experience of baby loss due to miscarriage, stillbirth, neonatal death, or IVF-related complications. I continue to support clients processing trauma and grief related to pregnancy and loss.

To ensure I offer the best possible care, I engage in Continued Professional Development, undertaking regular learning to deepen my expertise. I’ve received additional training in trauma and shame work, areas that significantly impact emotional wellbeing.

I’ve also had the privilege of volunteering for Sussex Community Development Association (SCDA) in Lewes and Newhaven, as well as Care For The Carers in Eastbourne—both invaluable experiences working with vulnerable individuals in our community.

Counselling has played a transformative role in my own life, and I’ve personally experienced how powerful and healing therapy can be. Being able to help others feel differently about their struggles, move towards a greater sense of wellbeing, and find healing from past or present pain is something I truly value.

My first session

Before we meet, I recommend a 20-minute introductory call, free of charge. This allows us to introduce ourselves, and gives you the chance to share what you're hoping counselling might help with. If a phone call feels too daunting, we can arrange initial contact via email instead.

I’m happy to answer any questions you may have. If there’s nothing that suggests we wouldn’t be the right fit, I’ll invite you for a 50-minute Assessment Session, in person.

During our assessment, you’ll have the opportunity to share more about your background, the support you’re seeking, and your current situation. I’ll ask about relevant aspects such as family history, medical background, close relationships, and support networks to help shape how our work together may begin.

I’ll take notes during this session, always ensuring strict confidentiality and compliance with data protection standards (IOS). Therapy follows professional guidelines to ensure your wellbeing, and if you choose to continue, we’ll sign a written agreement outlining the conditions for our working together.

You may find it helpful to speak to a few counsellors before making a decision, and I completely understand if you’re feeling nervous—especially if this is your first experience of therapy. My approach is always **warm, professional, and supportive**, with space to explore what matters to you at a pace that feels right.

If you decide to book sessions, we’ll regularly review our work—usually every six sessions or so —to ensure you’re happy with how things are progressing and that I’m meeting your therapeutic needs and to address any concerns I might have.
