About me and my therapy practice

We all have times in life when we struggle and could use some extra support. My aim is to offer you a confidential space where together we can make sense of what is going on for you, and enable you to move forward in a happier, healthier way.

I am a fully qualified and Accredited Counsellor with nearly 20 years of experience in various roles including within the NHS and charity sector, as well as my private practice. I hold a diploma in psychodynamic counselling and am registered with and Accredited by The British Association For Counsellors and Psychotherapists. I work in line with its ethical and professional policies.

I am psychodynamically trained but tailor my approach to each individual drawing on various methods, to best meet your needs.

If you would like to have an informal chat, I offer a FREE 20 minute telephone call to allow us to assess your requirements and discuss any questions you may have.

Practice description

I work with individuals from young adults aged 18+ to older adults on mental health areas such as depression, stress, anxiety, bereavement, relationships, living with chronic health conditions and more. See my website for further information

Sessions can be online, face to face or hybrid from my quiet therapy room in Theydon Bois.

Sessions are 50 minutes.

My Therapy room is a 5 minute walk from Theydon Bois Underground Central line station. There is also free on road parking and WC facilities.

I have reduced rates for Trainee Counsellors, who need to attend sessions as a course requirement.

My first session

Attending your first session can feel unnerving, but I will do my best to put you at ease and welcome you into my counselling space.

In the first session I will ask you what has brought you to counselling and what is going on for you at the moment. We will explore what you hope to get out of the counselling.

I will collect some basic information, ask you about yourself, and listen to enable me to assess if I feel I can offer you what you need.

It will also give you a chance to ask any questions you may have. After the session you can either have some time to decide if you feel you would like to work with me, or we can book in some further sessions.
