About me and my therapy practice
I am a qualified and experienced counsellor in CBT to Level 7 (Masters Level). I am person-centred, using Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. I am experienced in counselling young people, adults and couples. Through out my career as a counsellor, I have worked in various agencies and organisations, working with clients of all age groups, cultures and backgrounds. I have experience in working with clients through many different issues. I also have experience and training in couples counselling. I am senior accredited with the Íø±¬ÃÅ (British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy) and I work within their code of ethics and their framework. I have achieved a substantial level of training and have over 3000 hours. To maintain a high standard of care for my clients I have monthly supervision from an accredited counsellor. I am also a qualified and experienced clinical supervisor, working with trainee counsellors and qualified counsellors. I really enjoy helping people through their problems and I feel privileged to be a part of the journey people go through in counselling. This is the type of counselling offered via GP's on the NHS, because clients can feel better quite quickly (on average 6 sessions) and it is therefore cost effective. Studies show that CBT is as effective, if not more effective, than taking medication alone. In counselling, we will look at what problems you are having in the here and now, where they have come from and how to tackle the problems they are causing so that your future can be happier. We look at your thoughts and behaviour and how they are affecting your feelings. We will set goals for counselling, looking at what you hope to achieve and together find a way to achieve them in a confidential environment. It is a collaborative relationship, where together we can explore what is affecting you and find a way to work through the problems.

About me and my therapy practice
I have 15 years experience as a Level 7 qualified supervisor and 20 years as a Level 7 counsellor (Íø±¬ÃÅ senior accredited and ScoPed Cat C).
Practice description
I really enjoy working with trainee counsellors, as well as qualified counsellors. I completed the Íø±¬ÃÅ accredited Post Graduate Diploma in Consultative Supervision (Level 7) in the University of Wales, Newport. I do not see my role as telling you what to do or judge the decisions you made. As long as that decision was ethical and in the best interest of the client then I will fully support you.
As a supervisor I want to support you in anyway that I can. So this means that I am happy to complete any and all of the following for free:
College/Uni course Supervisor forms
Listening to any recorded sessions and give detailed feedback notes
Reading through essays and giving feedback
Reading through any accreditation forms and giving detailed feedback
Available at short notice for phone help/advice when you have any questions or issue with client work
I charge £45 per hour for supervision for those not currently studying and a reduced rate for students.
I endeavour to respond to any new queries within 24 hours.
