About me and my therapy practice
Experienced and professional counsellor in Sussex, providing counselling to:
- Children / Teens
- Adults
- Couples
Situated in the peaceful village of Ditchling, Hassocks.
Counselling with a trained professional can lead to improved understanding of self and improve relationships with others.
Therapy can also enable resilience in recognising, understanding and overcoming overwhelming or anxious feelings and support to express in a different way and access more healthy coping mechanisms.
Counselling can bring about a balanced state of emotional and mental health wellbeing and create more healthy coping mechanisms.
I am an interactive and engaged therapist and work in a range of ways, adapting to client preference including talking therapy and other visual related creative therapy.
Working in this way supports access to therapy for children and young people and also supports processing of cognitive memories held as somatic memories in adults where there has been childhood trauma or there are anxieties rooted in past experience.
If you are noticing that family life is a huge uphill struggle or you are a couple that are struggling in your relationship with each other, counselling underpinned by systemic and relational TA therapy can support improved and healthy communication in a safe setting where listening, understanding and relating to each other can be achieved. If as parents you are struggling to know how to support your children, counselling can be a valuable way in which to build understanding and resilience and thereby improve confidence and communication.

Practice description
We can work together to develop coping strategies that work for you towards managing symptoms that often accompany managing difficult situations / difficult feelings.
I am experienced in talking therapy, creative and sand tray therapy.
Sessions via
- face to face
- video call
- telephone call
I have undertaken extensive counselling training undertaken including BSc (Hons) degree in person centred counselling and further training in Transactional Analysis (TA) and creative therapy alongside other continued professional development training. I have worked within the NHS, alongside CAMHS and other professional organisations.
I can support clients and their families in finding their voice and liaise themselves directly with outside agencies such as schools in regards to education setting related issues, health care settings such as hospitals in regards to health related issues, and assessment processes such as ADHD and Autism assessors. Balancing confidentiality, privacy and consent I can also write reports with clients to support assessment processes.
My first session
Adults Counselling :
It is important that you find a counsellor that you can trust and that you feel you can work with. An introductory session can give you the opportunity to ask questions, and to make sure you feel comfortable before going ahead. It can also be useful in gaining an understanding of the counselling process.

Children / Teen Counselling :
It is important that both you and your child trusts the counsellor you choose. Depending on their age and situation, an initial session is undertaken with parent/carer and child. This is an opportunity to discuss objectives, arrange sessions and reviews.
I hold a current Enhanced DBS certificate.
Couples Counselling:
Consent will be obtained from both parties as it is important that both of you are seeking counselling and that you both feel comfortable and trusting of the person you will be working with. A first session is an important way to discuss individual and joint hopes for sessions and direction of process.
