About me and my therapy practice
Working Face to Face and Online
Hello and a warm welcome — I’m so glad you’re here.
I’m Nicola, a fully qualified and accredited counsellor registered with the Íø±¬ÃÅ (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy). I understand how much courage it takes to seek support, and my goal is to provide a safe, non-judgemental space where you feel truly heard and supported.
I have experience working in diverse settings and have trained in Person-Centred Therapy, CBT, Solution-Focused Therapy, and am a qualified EMDR therapist specialising in trauma, especially abuse. I also support trainee counsellors, psychotherapists, and university students.
My passion lies in helping people navigate life’s challenges and unlock their potential. I have worked with university students adjusting to change, and as an EAP counsellor, I provide short-term, solution-focused counselling—both face-to-face and online—to support employees and organisations in managing workplace pressures.
I have specialised training and personal insight in working with clients who are autistic and/or have ADHD, supporting them to understand themselves better, manage daily challenges, and celebrate their strengths in an inclusive, empathetic environment.
I am proud to have founded Mentoring 4 Life, a six-month mentoring programme for 16–19-year-old girls across Birmingham schools, aimed at boosting confidence, motivation, and self-esteem. This work earned me an MBE for Services to Education in the 2022 Queen’s Birthday Honours List.
Currently, I am training as a life coach to complement my counselling work, helping clients not only heal but also thrive as they move forward in life.
If you’d like to explore how we can work together, please get in touch — I’d love to support you on your journey.

Availability and Location
I offer flexible appointments to suit your schedule, including weekdays and weekend sessions, making therapy accessible even for those with busy lives.
Sessions take place in a beautiful, private therapy room, conveniently located with good transport links and designed to provide a calm, welcoming atmosphere where you can feel comfortable and at ease. If preferred, I also offer online sessions, allowing you to connect from the comfort of your own space.
Whether you’re looking for a weekly commitment or need something more flexible, I can tailor appointments to meet your needs.
My approach combines empathy, practical strategies, and a genuine belief in each person’s capacity for growth. Whether you are seeking support through a challenging time, looking to make meaningful life changes, or wanting to rediscover your confidence and purpose, I am here to help
My first session
Taking the first step into therapy can feel daunting, but it’s also the beginning of something transformative. Your first session is a space just for you—a place to feel heard, supported, and safe as we explore what’s brought you here and how we can work together to create meaningful change.
This isn’t about jumping into the deep end or solving everything all at once. It’s about creating a foundation—a starting point where you feel comfortable, understood, and hopeful. Whether you’re feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or simply unsure of where to start, you don’t need to have all the answers. This is a space where we’ll figure things out together.
The first session is an opportunity to begin building a connection and understanding your unique story. It’s a space where you can share whatever feels important to you—there’s no right or wrong way to begin. You might want to talk about what’s been weighing on you, explore how you’re feeling, or even reflect on what’s brought you to therapy now.
What matters most is that you feel seen, heard, and valued. My approach is warm, compassionate, and non-judgmental, creating a space where you can truly be yourself.
We’ll explore:
• What’s currently on your mind or in your heart.
• What you’d like to gain from therapy, even if that feels unclear right now.
• What support looks like for you—whether that’s feeling calmer, rediscovering who you are, or building tools to navigate life’s challenges.
There’s no pressure to delve into everything in the first session. Instead, we’ll go at a pace that feels right for you.
In therapy, safety is key—both emotional and physical. Your first session is designed to give you a sense of what it feels like to be in a space where your thoughts, feelings, and experiences are respected and held with care.
