About me and my therapy practice
About Me
I’ve worked as a counsellor in a number of settings for over 20 years. I’m experienced in helping support with issues such as anxiety, depression, work stress, bereavement and relationships amongst others. I’ve had experience of being on the receiving end of counselling myself too, so I bring this to our sessions as I know how daunting it may feel to start working on matters that could be very personal and sensitive.
Experience with Counselling
What's unique about my approach is that I've also been a client in therapy myself. This personal experience has given me invaluable insight into the process, allowing me to empathize with the courage it takes to seek help and the vulnerability that comes with it. I know firsthand how daunting it can feel to take that first step, and I'm committed to creating a warm, safe, and non-judgmental space for you to explore your thoughts, feelings, and concerns.
Collaborative Approach
I believe that counselling is a collaborative process, not a directive one. My role is to work alongside you, exploring your experiences, and helping you gain perspective and understanding. Together, we'll identify ways forward that are tailored to your unique needs and goals. I'm not here to tell you what to do, but rather to support and empower you to make informed choices that align with your values and aspirations.
