About me and my therapy practice
I specialise in helping people who feel stuck, especially those who’ve already tried other therapies, understand their patterns, but still find themselves trapped by anxiety, self-doubt or emotional blocks.
I practise ISTDP: a powerful, evidence-based therapy that doesn’t just help you cope with symptoms, it helps you get to the emotional root of the problem and resolve it.
Unlike traditional talking therapies, ISTDP focuses on what’s happening in the moment. We pay close attention to your emotional responses, your anxiety, and the subtle ways you might be avoiding feelings that are too painful or conflicted to face directly. These avoidances, often outside of conscious awareness, are usually the very things keeping people stuck.
In our work, I’ll support you to face those emotions safely, process what’s been buried, and come through the other side with more freedom, clarity, and confidence in yourself.
Practice description
This therapy isn’t about endless analysis or surface-level strategies. It’s about working together to understand and shift the emotional blocks that have been shaping your life.
That might mean uncovering the roots of long-standing anxiety, changing how you relate in relationships, or letting go of patterns that once protected you but now hold you back.
I offer therapy both online (across the UK and Europe) and in-person in Nottingham. I also provide clinical supervision for therapists who want to deepen their emotional focus and refine their technique.
If you’re ready to stop managing symptoms and start resolving what’s really going on, this approach could be a turning point.
My first session
Many people I work with come to therapy having already done a lot of thinking. They might have tried counselling, CBT, or other talking therapies, but something still feels stuck.
In our first session, we don’t just talk about what’s going on. We begin to work. I’ll help you slow down and notice what’s happening emotionally beneath the surface, especially the patterns, anxieties or defences that might be blocking real change.
ISTDP is an active, emotionally-focused therapy. That means we begin exploring not just what’s wrong, but why it keeps happening and what’s being avoided emotionally that could be processed instead.
This session is the first step in a process that aims not just for insight, but for lasting change. I offer sessions online or in-person in Nottingham.

About me and my therapy practice
I’m a psychotherapist and supervisor with a background in CBT and psychodynamic therapy, now specialising in Intensive Short-Term Dynamic Psychotherapy (ISTDP). I work with clients both online and in-person, and support other therapists who want to work more dynamically and effectively with emotional blocks.
I know what it’s like to feel unsure about how to approach certain client difficulties, or to sense that something deeper is going on but not quite know how to reach it. In my own journey, discovering ISTDP was a turning point. It gave me the tools to help clients access real change, and it continues to shape how I work and supervise today.
My aim is to support you to develop confidence, clarity, and creativity in your clinical work, whether you’re new to this way of working or already immersed in it.
Practice description
I offer clinical supervision with a focus on depth-oriented, emotion-focused work, particularly ISTDP, though I also support therapists from a range of backgrounds. My approach is collaborative, practical, and attuned to the emotional demands of therapeutic work. Whether you’re looking to deepen your technique, think through complex cases, or reflect on the emotional impact of your work, supervision provides a structured space to support your growth. I’m particularly interested in helping therapists develop their skill in working with defences, anxiety, and emotional breakthroughs and in finding their own authentic voice as a clinician.
My first session
In our first supervision session, I aim to get a clear sense of your current practice, clinical questions, and professional needs. This session is charged at the standard rate, and there’s no expectation to commit long-term, it’s an opportunity for us both to get a feel for whether the fit is right. We’ll explore what brings you to supervision, what you’re looking for support with, and how I might be able to help. If you’re new to ISTDP, I can also offer an initial case consultation to help assess where we might begin, depending on your experience and goals.
