I work as a psychotherapist and counsellor on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., providing compassionate care and mental health support to my clients.

About me and my therapy practice

As an experienced psychotherapist and counsellor, I work with young people aged 11 and above, providing a safe, supportive, and compassionate environment to explore thoughts, feelings, and experiences. I understand that adolescence and early adulthood can bring complex emotional challenges, and I aim to help clients build resilience, self-understanding, and confidence as they navigate these transitions.

I am a qualified integrative therapist, drawing upon a range of evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), person-centred therapy, trauma-informed practice, and Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR). This flexible, holistic approach allows me to tailor each session to meet the unique needs and goals of the individual.

My work is grounded in empathy, respect, and collaboration. I place strong emphasis on developing a trusting therapeutic relationship where clients feel heard, understood, and empowered to make meaningful change. I have particular experience supporting young people who have experienced trauma, including childhood sexual abuse (CSA), as well as those struggling with anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, and emotional regulation.

Sessions focus on helping clients make sense of their experiences, develop healthy coping strategies, and move toward a greater sense of safety and self-worth. I integrate both talking and practical strategies, always at a pace that feels comfortable and supportive.

I work on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., offering a confidential and non-judgmental space to support young people on their journey toward healing and growth.

Practice description

I work as part of a team of  experienced mental health therapists at Insula Wellbeing, a collaborative practice dedicated to providing high-quality, person-centred care. Our team offers a supportive and inclusive environment where clients can feel safe to explore their experiences and begin their journey toward emotional wellbeing and personal growth.

I provide therapy for both young people aged 11 and above and adults, drawing on a broad range of professional experience gained across statutory, voluntary, and private sectors. This background enables me to work effectively with a wide variety of presenting issues and to adapt my approach to meet each individual’s unique needs and circumstances.

My integrative style combines Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), trauma-informed approaches, and Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), allowing for flexibility and depth in the therapeutic process. I have a particular interest in supporting clients who have experienced trauma, including childhood sexual abuse (CSA), as well as those struggling with anxiety, depression, and low self-esteem.

Clients can expect a compassionate, collaborative, and confidential space where they are treated with respect and empathy. I work alongside clients to help them understand their experiences, strengthen coping skills, and promote emotional resilience and self-awareness.

At Insula Wellbeing, our collective aim is to support each client’s individual journey—helping them feel heard, understood, and empowered to create positive and lasting change.

My first session

The first session is part of a two-session assessment process designed to help us understand your needs, explore what has brought you to therapy, and decide together how best to move forward. This process allows time for you to share your story at your own pace, ask questions, and get a sense of how I work, so you can feel confident about continuing.

The initial assessment consists of two appointments:

Session 1: 1½ hours

Session 2: 1 hour

The total fee for both assessment sessions is £180.

During these sessions, we will explore your background, current difficulties, goals for therapy, and any previous experiences of support or treatment. I may also use some structured assessment tools or questionnaires if appropriate, but the main focus will be on understanding your experiences and what you hope to gain from therapy.

After the assessment, we will discuss a therapeutic plan and decide together on the best approach for ongoing sessions. Each subsequent session lasts 50–60 minutes and is charged at £80 per session.

I believe it’s important that therapy feels like a collaborative process, and the assessment period is an opportunity for you to ensure that I am the right fit for your needs before committing to longer-term work.
