About me and my therapy practice

I offer counselling for individuals and couples.

Talking to someone about how you think and feel can transform the way you live your life. Whether you are navigating relationship issues, dealing with anxiety or depression, or seeking personal growth, I offer a safe, confidential and judgement-free space tailored to your needs.

As a Íø±¬ÃÅ Accredited Integrative Counsellor, and Counselling Lecturer with over a decade of experience, I combine evidence-based approaches including Person-Centred, Gestalt, Transactional Analysis and Imago Relationship Therapies.

Individual Counselling -

Many people choose counselling when experiencing difficulties, distress or dissatisfaction in their lives and want to speak with somebody who is independent of family and friends. Whatever your background, culture or identity, I am here to listen, support and guide you towards clarity and healing.

Together we can work on changing thought patterns and behaviours that no longer serve you. Explore unresolved difficulties from your past to make sense of the present, and focus on building self-worth, resilience and emotional balance

Relationship Counselling -

Working together, I will teach you and your partner new ways to communicate, blame-free, with a focus on positivity. Using the Imago Relationship Therapy approach, my aim is to help you improve communication by learning new constructive ways to talk without blame or shame. To identify barriers by exploring and addressing out-of-date patterns of behaviour, and help you focus on Positivity by embracing the differences in your relationship and turn them into strengths.

For couples who choose to part ways, I also provide guidance towards amicable and respectful closure.

If you have any questions about the counselling service I offer, please do not hesitate to get in touch. I look forward to hearing from you.

Practice description

By integrating modern techniques and approaches, together we can find a way for you to feel understood and find the joy in your life by accepting and working through the difficulties you may be facing.

I work in an LGBTQ+ affirmative way. With considerable experience and understanding of the different lifestyles within the gay community, I offer a safe space to explore openly and without shame. It is highly important to me to consider each person as a unique individual, recognising that we are all fundamentally worthy; whatever your background, culture or identity, I welcome you.

As an accredited member of the Íø±¬ÃÅ (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) I work within their ethical framework. I also engage with regular CPD and Supervision to ensure I provide you with a quality and up-to-date service.

My first session

When you call or email me, I will send you my current availability.

Individual Counselling -

I offer a 30 minute consultation call via Zoom or telephone. This is an opportunity for us to get to know each other before committing to therapy. You can ask me any questions and we can discuss your counselling needs in more depth. If we then decide to work together, we can arrange regular sessions of 60 minutes each, either in-person or online.

Relationship Counselling -

I offer an introductory session of 1 hour, and this is an opportunity for us all to get to know each other, before committing to working together. I will listen to each of you to get a fuller understanding of why you are seeking relationship counselling and also demonstrate a clear and practical way of communicating. This will give you both the chance to experience a reconnection. You will hopefully see by the end of the first session that a safe and calm environment allows you and your partner to share your thoughts and feelings more productively. If we decide we would like to work together, we can arrange a regular time to meet with all following sessions being 1.5 hours each.

Whether you are seeking individual or relationship counselling, after our first meeting I will ask you to take your time to think about the session and consider if you would like to continue working together. Without any pressure to commit, I encourage you to find the best therapy for you.

About me and my therapy practice

As therapists and counsellors we work with a whole range of emotional experiences, and so supervision is a place to explore and grow confidence in our practice. Finding a supervisor that suits you is a personal choice and one to take with respectful consideration.  For this reason, I offer a free 30 minute consultation before making your decision.

I use an integrative and creative approach to supervision, translating theory into an embodied experience. So much of our work relates to what is happening 'under the surface', and so I see it as my role to support you with attuning to all aspects of the therapy you deliver.

Practice description

With over a decade of experience working in private and voluntary settings, alongside teaching other counsellors at diploma level, I offer you a dynamic approach to supervision. Whatever your level of experience, I am available to assist you in managing your client work, as well as your own ongoing personal development.

Working collaboratively, we can assess different perspectives of your work, to include safety, inclusion and growth. In addition, I can support you through your accreditation process, and any exam preparation you may need.

I also offer group supervision for those who prefer the experience of multiple points of view. If you are interested in forming a supervision group, or joining an existing group, I am available to facilitate and guide your meetings of 2 to 4 supervisees. Group work is an invaluable experience where not only do you receive extra feedback and observations on your own work, but can also learn from your peers' development.

My first session

I offer a 30 minute consultation, free of charge, for us to get to know each other. This is an opportunity to ask any questions, explore expectations and decide if we are a good match. If we decide to work together, it is your choice to meet in-person, online or a combination of both.
