About me and my therapy practice
Person-Centred Counselling: Confidential Support for Adults and Young People (13+)
My name is Lara. I work with individuals who feel overwhelmed and stuck. I help them manage difficult feelings and explore ways forward. Together, we create a safe space where they recover and find the confidence to achieve their goals. Specialising in recovery from trauma and childhood issues, I often work with people feeling trapped in unfulfilling situations and people-pleasing. I help them let go of others’ expectations and live as the person they would like to be.
I know that it's hard to share troubling memories or events, but also with the right support, people can overcome even the most difficult of pasts and circumstances. In a private setting, I offer a safe space to discuss whatever you wish without pressure. No judgements, hurrying you, or asking probing questions. Though I may offer new perspectives and possibilities, we work together at your pace towards the changes that you are looking for.
As a qualified counsellor and former social worker with over 30 years of professional experience, I have supported a diverse range of clients through wide-ranging issues. My experience before private practice includes counselling in a male prison, working in sexual abuse and domestic violence recovery services, providing therapy in mainstream and specialist (SEMH) education, offering online mental health support, bereavement counselling, helpline services, and social work in child protection and residential care.
Practice description
I have undertaken extensive training beyond my primary qualifications through ongoing courses and workshops. My core qualifications are:
- BA Hons Community Studies (Social Sciences)
- Postgraduate Diploma in Social Work
- Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling
- Certificate in Online & Telephone Counselling
- Advanced Certificate in Clinical Supervision
I deliver counselling online (via Zoom and phone) UK-wide and in person for clients from across the North West, including Grappenhall, Stockton Heath, and Lymm. I also offer walk-and-talk therapy. Instead of sitting face-to-face, we walk side-by-side outdoors, exploring issues in a natural setting. This can create an increased sense of equality and relaxation.
I am also a Clinical Supervisor (I oversee the work of other therapists).
Short-term, long-term, open-ended support. Day & evening appointments, Monday-Friday.
My first session
I offer an initial meeting, free of charge (currently by video call or in-person only). There’s no pressure, just a chance to explore whether we’re the right fit for each other.
My Fees
1-hour Counselling Session: £50.00 (£40.00 for trainee counsellors)
1-hour Supervision Session: £50.00 (£40.00 for trainee counsellors).
Fees are payable in cash or by card at the end of each session. Payment for online sessions and young people’s counselling is made in advance via payment link.

About me and my therapy practice
Person-Centred Supervisor in Warrington, Cheshire.
I’m a qualified supervisor with an Advanced Certificate in Clinical Supervision, 18 years of counselling practice, and 13 years’ prior experience as a social worker. I have supported both adults and young people across a broad range of issues, with a focus on trauma, separation, and loss (more in my therapist profile).
I’m a registered member of the Íø±¬ÃÅ and NCPS, adhering to their ethical frameworks to maintain high standards of practice. I’m insured, ICO-compliant (ZB284039), and committed to ongoing CPD and personal supervision.
I offer individual and group sessions in person, by phone, and via video call (Zoom) to experienced therapists, trainees, and other helping professionals.
I’m also available to facilitate reflective practice groups for those supporting people in distress or crisis, often in high-pressure settings (e.g., social workers, probation officers, pastoral/safeguarding teams). Groups offer staff protected time to process experiences and find support for the emotional demands of their work.
Practice description
I view supervision as a partnership based on mutual respect and openness that offers you a safe, confidential relationship to explore your work.
My aim is to create a supportive yet gently challenging environment that grows with us, and help you practise ethically and safely as the practitioner you aspire to be. It’s a space to look at areas for focus as well as celebrate success.
While I offer my experience as constructive feedback, I’ll equally value yours, encourage your autonomy, and seek to stretch your potential. Whether you’re considering a new job role, moving your work online, or establishing your own private practice, I’m here to help.
My first session
I offer a free 30-minute initial meeting, either face-to-face or via Zoom, so we can see if we’d like to work together.
Fees
My fees are: £50.00 per one-hour session, £40.00 for trainees. Group/organisation rates on request.
Trainees: Please note that reports for college may be discussed and collaboratively written in supervision sessions.
