About me and my therapy practice

Hi I'm Bev thank you for taking the time to look at my profile. I am a trauma informed integrative psychotherapist with a wealth of experience in providing support to adults and young people with a range of difficulties and concerns from relationship difficulties to anxiety, low self-esteem and confidence to trauma, Complex PTSD and PTSD in Warwickshire for just over 20 years. I am Accredited with Íø±¬ÃÅ and have worked in non-for-profit agencies specialising in domestic abuse for many years.

I am passionate about making a difference and helping people to become the best version of themselves and overcome any difficulties that are preventing them from living their best lives.

Practice description

I work in a collaborative way, fully respecting that you are the expert in your life. I initially trained in Person-centred Therapy and have more recently trained in Eye Movement Desensitisation Reprocessing (EMDR). EMDR was developed – and is best known – as a therapy for treating trauma or post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). It’s recognised by the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) and the World Health Organisation (WHO) as a treatment for PTSD, (Íø±¬ÃÅ 2025).

Having been a talking therapist working with trauma for many years, EMDR I believe is the answer! I really feel that a combination of talking therapy and EMDR can greatly reduce the distressful and often disabling symptoms caused by trauma in both childhood and as an adult, such as, flashbacks, panic attacks, nightmares, anxiety and hypervigilance.

In addition to EMDR and Talking Therapy I also practice in a way that is informed by the Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy (DDP) model. DDP is an attachment theory based therapy which uses PACE Parenting, a therapeutic parenting approach which can be beneficial for parents whose children have developmental trauma or attachment difficulties.

I believe the relationship with your therapist is really important and that's why I offer a free initial session in order for you to assess whether I am the right therapist for you. I work online via Zoom which gives me the flexibility to work across the UK.

If you are interested to find out more please email me on bevpatrick6@yahoo.co.uk to arrange a no obligation initial telephone call or zoom session.
