About me and my therapy practice

Do you feel something needs to change?  Are current relationships strained.  Are you struggling with day to day task or becoming anxious?  Are things from your past still affecting you now?  I can help you make sense of your thoughts and feelings and assist you to make the changes you want.  I have seen the amazing transformations people can make with the right therapeutic support.

I am a person-centred integrative counsellor, which means I draw from a variety of therapeutic approaches such as cognitive behavioural therapy, mindfulness, creative arts and play therapy.  I will work with you to achieve the best outcomes for you and tailor the therapy to meet your individual needs.

I believe in creating a place of safety, and a relationship that is non-judgemental and that allows a person to work through their difficult issues and traumas.  My approach is to be empathic, respectful and treat people with sensitivity and dignity.  Together we would make sense of your memories, thoughts and feelings and help you find ways to increase self awareness and to regain a sense of emotional wellbeing.

Practice description

I am a Person-Centred Therapist with additional training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (Level 5), Counselling with Children and Young People (Level 5), and Counselling Supervision (Level 6). I am also trained in Solution-Focused Coaching and hold a certification in Couples Counselling, which allows me to support a wide range of clients in different areas of life and relationships." I have undertaken Graduate Level 1 and 2 in Trauma and Attachment with the Sensorimotor Psychotherapy Institute.  This therapy combines cognitive talking therapies with somatic approaches to help reduce trauma and attachment based symptoms.

I am an Advanced Registered Restorative Practitioner with the Restorative Justice Council, trained in conflict resolution and restorative mediation.

My first session

I offer a free 20-minute introductory session, which can be held either face-to-face or online.

At the beginning of our work together I will carry out an assessment, this will help identify those areas in your life that we will work on.

All counselling sessions are 50 minutes long, except for couples counselling, which lasts 1 hour.  The number of sessions needed varies from person to person.  At the beginning of our work together we will plan to meet for a number of sessions and progress will then be reviewed at regular intervals.

About me and my therapy practice

I have been a counsellor for 13 years, supporting both adults and children. I’m an integrative counsellor, mainly drawing on Person-Centered Therapy and CBT.  I also have a background in trauma counselling and utilise Sensorimotor Psychotherapy where appropriate. I am a certified couples counsellor and an advanced Restorative Practitioner with extensive experience in conflict resolution. I have a flexible approach which allows me to meet each person where they are and create a supportive, collaborative space for growth and change.

Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of helping many individuals and couples work through challenges and build stronger, more fulfilling relationships.

Practice description

I know how important it is to find the right supervisor.  A good working relationship can make a real difference to your confidence, your clinical practice, and your development as a counsellor.

My approach to supervision is integrative, with a strong humanistic foundation. I also draw on approaches such as CBT and Sensorimotor Psychotherapy when appropriate. Together, we’ll explore what style of working best supports you and your clients, and how to help them move forward while staying ethical and working within the professional framework.

As a supervisor, my priority is to create a safe, supportive space where you feel truly accepted. I want you to be able to talk openly about your worries, challenges, and successes without fear of judgment.  Supervision with me is about encouraging reflection, building self-awareness, and supporting your growth and professional development while helping you feel confident in your work.

I take a flexible approach because I know every supervisee works differently. I offer support not only with client work but also in recognising how your personal life may impact your practice. Together, we can explore ways to look after your well-being, maintain balance, and strengthen your self-care so that you can continue to do your best work.
