About me and my therapy practice
It can be difficult to talk to those closest to you about your issues and concerns? This can be because you do not want to burden them or feel worried that they might judge or not understand what you are going through. I provide a safe, confidential, and non-judgemental space in which you can explore your thoughts and feelings, allowing you to understand more about yourself and your relationships with others.
I am a qualified person-centred counsellor but have carried out further training to development my work as a counsellor to benefit my clients. As an integrative counsellor, I work with a variety of therapeutic approaches and methods, and combine them to suit the needs of each individual client.
I also have a Masters degree qualification in Relationship and Couples counselling
I am comfortable working alongside you with whatever you chose to bring to therapy. I am there to listen to you, not to judge you. I trust that, through counselling, you will find the best viewpoint or solution for yourself. This will help you to move forward confidently and productively with the rest of your life.
It is essential that you find a therapist that you are comfortable working with. It has to feel like a good fit for you. To get a sense of this, I offer a free 15-minute call. If you would like to schedule a call or find out more, please get in touch by clicking 'email me'.
COUNSELLING CHANGES LIVES.
Practice description
My view of the developments of a client's emotional make-up and reaction to the challenges in their life, is a result of all their relationships, both past and present. Both nurturing and difficult relationships leave their mark on us and will affect how we react to situations in our present lives.
I use a framework of Relationship and Attachment Theory to help clients gain insight into their own reactions and behaviours. This also helps them understand the behaviour of those around them.
I try to aid clients understand their development and to let go of what I define as not being their responsibility.
I help clients gain an understanding of where they are in their present life and to decide on how they can deal with whatever is presented to them in all their situations and interactions.
Successful counselling is when the client fully accepts that it is OK to be themselves while still acknowledging the needs of those around them. Clients re-discover themselves and make changes to their behaviour and reactions, if they feel that this is required and beneficial to improve their lives.
CLIENTS LEARN TO HANDLE LIFE ON THEIR TERMS.

About me and my therapy practice
I offer supervision to student and qualified counsellors working with individuals and couples. My own training as a counsellor was firstly in Person Centred Theory and secondly in Attachment Theories. My counselling approach has developed into an integrative approach, developing what my experience tells me works with different clients. I continue in my client work which gives me a realistic and current view of the challenges which my supervisees are faced with in their client work.
I believe that the relationship between supervisee and supervisor is the foundation in creating a safe, supportive, collaborative, and developmental environment, where the counsellors personal process is held and explored in parallel to their client work.
To give structure to supervision, I use both the Inskipp and Proctor model (Normative, Formative, and Restorative), and also the 7-eyed model which put the client at the centre of the counselling and supervision processes.
I enjoy analysing case work with counsellors and trainees in a creative, curious way and supporting them to develop an effective, ethical practice that is true to their own individual style of counselling within an ethical framework.
I offer trainee counsellors a reduced rate of £25:00 per hour as recognition of the financial challenges faced as a student.
