About me and my therapy practice
Hello, and a warm welcome to you.
I am an experienced integrative therapist offering online counselling sessions for adults and young people aged 14 and over.
As an integrative therapist, I draw on various therapeutic styles and techniques to find ways of working that are right for you. I often incorporate brainspotting therapy into my work, offering clients another level of depth, processing and integration.
I provide a welcoming, friendly and confidential space where you can be yourself, without fear of judgement.
Whatever struggles, emotional distress or questions bring you here, therapy is a space where you will be deeply listened to and supported, as you make your journey towards greater ease and a more fulfilled, joyful life.
Practice description
My aim is to provide a compassionate and emotionally safe space to enable you to explore whatever challenges you may be facing. Through our mutual commitment and collaborative way of working, you can gain a deeper understanding of yourself and discover new ways of being in relation to the world.
Having worked within the Health and Social Care sector for over twenty years, I have significant experience of the many difficulties and challenges people encounter.
I have trained in, and work with a range of therapeutic models, including person-centred therapy, relational therapy and DNA-V (Acceptance and Commitment therapy for young people).
I can also offer creative ways of working to help us explore the space beyond words. Using images, stories, and objects can be helpful for coming into contact with parts of us that aren’t so easily accessible to conscious thought.
I am especially interested in working with internal narratives and the benefits of exploring these.
As a late realised AuDHD person, I bring my lived experience, understanding and knowledge into my therapeutic work.
I can support you with a broad range of issues, listed below.
In addition, I have extensive experience working in the following areas:
• Autism and ADHD
• addiction and recovery
• work-related issues
• relationship difficulties
• grief and loss
Roles I have carried out in addition to my private therapy practice include:
Service Manager - Adults 12-step residential rehabilitation service and community recovery centre
Service Manager - HMP Drug and Alcohol Recovery Service
Manager - Children and Young People's counselling service
NHS Counsellor - Children and Young People
My first session
Prior to your first session I provide a free initial 15 minute telephone conversation.
This will enable us to meet and for you to get a sense of me and how I work. We will explore what brings you to therapy, what changes you hope to see and gives you an opportunity to see if working with me feels right for you.
What I can help with
Abuse, ADD / ADHD, Addictions, Anxiety, Autism spectrum, Bereavement, Child related issues, Chronic fatigue syndrome / ME, Depression, Health related issues, Identity issues, LGBTQ+ counselling, Loss, Menopause, Mood disorder, Neurodiversity, Redundancy, Relationships, Self esteem, Self-harm, Sexuality, Stress, Substance Dependency, Trauma, Women's issues, Work related issues
