About me and my therapy practice
Hello and welcome! Therapy can be transformative and it takes a lot of courage to take the first step towards change. My name is Marie, and I am an accredited Íø±¬ÃÅ counsellor with over 14 years of experience.
I originally trained in person-centred counselling but over the years have studied dialectical behaviour therapy, integrative approaches, solution focused therapy, and I am qualified as a EMDR therapist working with trauma.
Life can be challenging; my purpose is to try and help others unlock their true potential and live the life they want to. I am here for you.
Practice description
Counselling can be helpful with a wide range of emotional issues, and I hope to help you get through them in a self-empowering way, building resilience and self-reflection that once cultivated, will benefit you long after your counselling ends.
No two counselling experiences are ever the same, we may work together for only a short time, or our work together may go on for much longer. It is important to me that I am ethically always meeting your needs and hitting the goals that you need to through our sessions. My hope is to help guide you in your journey without judgment, but you are the expert of your own life.
Many people will feel nervous about seeing a counsellor, and this is understandable. It takes a lot of courage to speak about our issues, but just like our physical need for food, water and shelter, we also have emotional needs too that need attention.
Counselling is a personal and transformative experience, and I want to make it as accessible and comfortable for you as possible, so I offer online work, (flexible with days/times for online work), telephone and in person sessions. I am also open to nature walks in the Shepperton area if moving therapy is a personal choice for you.
My first session
I offer a free 20 minute telephone call in the first instance with no obligation to see how we can work together. A good therapeutic relationship is paramount in helping you through your struggles and achieving what you need.

About me and my therapy practice
Individual and group supervision. I am an experienced supervisor and counsellor. Choosing the right supervisor is crucial for ensuring ethically sound support for our clinical practice. It protects us and the client, whilst allowing a safe space to explore the work we are doing with our clients. Respecting ethical boundaries and being reflective is essential to ensure good practice in our work. I have a level 5 qualification in supervising, (accredited course).
Practice description
Being an ethical practitioner and having regular supervision is paramount in our work and it is important to work within our competencies and limits of proficiency which protects the client and safeguards the duty of care. In our sessions, I will attempt to learn and grow with you whilst offering different perspectives and reflections on the work you bring which could enhance your professional practice and benefit you and your client. I believe strongly in a collaborative approach with my supervisees steeped in respect for our work and each other. I have extensive experience supervising trainee counsellors and qualified counsellors in group and individual sessions.
