About me and my therapy practice
Individuals
Life can feel hard sometimes.
A crisis that throws everything we took for granted into the air, crashing us and our life into a million pieces.
A gnawing sense that we are running from ourselves, our past, things that we are scared to face but we know are dictating our current life.
A subtle but disquieting sense that life was supposed to be or feel different to this, that we are meant for more, but we don’t know what.
A feeling that we can’t cope with everything that life is giving us to handle, perhaps involving uncontrollable tears, endless worry or exhaustion.
A recognition that we are living to please others and meet their expectations rather than ourselves and the dis ease that this evokes.
A realisation that our mind is at constant war with us and the fear and lack of peace that goes along with that.
These are just some of the many many reasons that people begin therapy. It can feel scary to reach out to a therapist. But when the idea of continuing as we are seems worse than the unknown of therapy, we make the call or send the email.
I believe that there is no ‘one size fits all’, but when we are met with another human who is safe, free of judgment, devoted to help us experience and understand ourselves, there is a magic that happens within us that creates change of some sort, and alleviates distress.
Therapy with me looks like an extended conversation over a number of weeks. My intention is to help you see, hear and understand yourself more fully so that you are empowered to make choices, take actions and create relationships that serve your highest good. We attend to the mind, the body and the energetic self. I love this work that I have been doing now for over 10 years. I remain in awe of the human potential for growth, overcoming obstacles and thriving when pain, suffering and challenges are explored and attended to.
I would love to hear from you if you think I can be of help. Please email or call.
Practice description
Couples
Being part of a couple can be the most beautiful yet also the most challenging and painful thing. My work with couples begins with learning a new way to communicate that honours both of you and your perspectives and creates safety. From this place of safety, we can feel connected to our partner and expereince the joy that relationship can bring. WE take care of the relational space between you, so that you can safely share your truth with your partner and can hear theirs. Rather than finding yourselves in a power struggle vying for your own position, you find yourself as a team working together to take care of your relationship. Of course for some people, it has become too painful for too long and the need is for an ending. Even here, we can communicate and navigate that process with consciousness and compassion holding a painful process in love.
My role is to teach you methods to dialogue, to hold a loving space within which you can hear yourselves and each other.
WE learn about intimate relationships from our original family from the moment we are born into them. The likelihood is that you and your partner do not have a blueprint for healthy conscious relating. You and your partner will bring with you into your relationship, childhood wounds and models of relationship that limit your capacity to give and receive love. We all have this to some degree or other. My aim is to help you uncover these so that you heal yourselves, grow the skills to create and sustain fulfilling loving relationship.

About me and my therapy practice
I am a counsellor rooted in the person centered tradition, but since training, this has expanded to embrace ideas from gestalt and existential therapies, trauma informed modalities as well as energy psychology and spiritual ideas.
I have experience of working with young people in school and in private practice. I have worked for EAP providers, voluntary organsisations and in private practice.
My underpinning theory for supervision is Shohet’s 7 eyed model. believe in and am committed to supervision as a restorative and growthful process. My hope is for practitioners to find a safe enough place within supervision with me, that they are able to bring the difficult things, reflect and embrace challenge. AS practitioners, our greatest asset is our self, so it is my aim to pay attention to you as a practitioner, to what you might need in sessions so that in turn, you are most fully resourced to engage with your clients to your greatest potential.
