About me and my therapy practice

I have a Masters in Counselling and I am a Íø±¬ÃÅ accredited counsellor (since 2015) and who practices within a person-centred and integrative framework, including psychodynamic and CBT. I draw on various techniques and modalities, tailoring the way I work according to the individual needs.

Such issues may be relationship difficulties, early life experiences, anxiety, depression, addictions or stressful life events such as bereavement and illness. The nature of the difficulties that you are experiencing, will determine to some extent the length and depth of therapy that is required.

I offer online, telephone and face-to-face counselling in Cleveland, UK.

I have worked in the counselling field for over 25 years working with adults and adolescents.

I provide a safe and confidential space, where you can explore issues in a collaborative and supportive way.

My area of expertise is anxiety, depression, PTSD, addictions (alcohol), disabilities, bereavement, domestic violence and abuse, and relationship difficulties.

Practice description

Since 1996 I have gained massive amounts of experience and knowledge in various different counselling areas, such as alcohol misuse (addictions), domestic violence and abuse, disabilities and am currently back at a local hospice as a volunteer bereavement counsellor (where I have previously counselled). I also have experience of working in an educational establishment on a short term contract, working with students who were struggling with course work, exams, sexuality, ADHD, autism and a wide range of mental health struggles such as depression and anxiety.

I have just retired and am focussing on my own counselling business, as I love helping people grow and develop.

My first session

Introductory session

I offer a free 15 minute call to discuss your issues and for you to ask questions (this can be via telephone or MS Teams). It is important for you to feel comfortable with me, as a counsellor, so If you feel you would like to go ahead, then the next session would be an assessment.

The assessment is a chance to get a comprehensive understanding of your issues, to identify your therapy needs and how to move forward.
