About me and my therapy practice

Mindful, body-based therapy for thoughtful people who seem calm on the outside but feel anxious inside — a space to slow down, listen deeply, and rediscover your natural ease and presence.

I see therapy as a space to slow down and really listen — not just with the mind but with the whole body. It’s a kind of shared meditation, where we explore what’s happening in your experience right now and discover what it’s trying to show you.

My work is grounded in the Hakomi Method of Somatic Psychotherapy, which brings mindfulness and compassion into self-discovery. We pay attention to the subtle ways your body and emotions express what’s going on beneath the surface — a tightening, a breath held, a movement that wants to happen. These signals often reveal old patterns of protection that once helped you cope but now keep life feeling smaller or more anxious than it needs to be.

When those patterns are met with curiosity and care, they start to soften. New choices and a sense of ease often follow naturally.

I also draw on Circling, a mindfulness-based connection practice that brings presence into relationship. Together, Hakomi and Circling offer a gentle, experiential way of working — less about analysing and more about discovering, in real time, what’s alive in you and what wants to change.

I don’t see people as problems to fix. I see us all as living, intelligent systems that can unfold toward wholeness when met with awareness and compassion. My role is to support that unfolding with warmth, respect, and curiosity.

Practice description

Gentle, embodied therapy for reflective people who sense there’s more to life than coping — space to explore yourself with warmth, curiosity, and presence.

You might value mindfulness or meditation, yet still find yourself carrying a quiet layer of anxiety. Outwardly you seem calm and capable, but inside there’s a sense of tension — as if part of you is always holding it together. You may sense there’s more freedom available, but it’s hard to reach alone.

Many of the people I work with are reflective, caring, and committed to growth. They’re curious about what’s really going on beneath the surface — how old patterns of feeling or believing might still shape their lives — and they’re open to exploring this through direct experience, not just talking about it.

In our sessions, we bring gentle attention to what’s happening in the present moment — sensations, emotions, impulses — and stay with it. Rather than asking why you feel anxious, I might invite you to notice how your body experiences it right now. As we stay with that awareness, something begins to shift on its own.

Clients often describe this work as grounding and quietly transformative. Over time, they feel more connected to themselves, more spacious, and better able to meet life as it is.

Sessions are collaborative and paced to your comfort. I offer both online and in-person sessions in Edinburgh — a calm, welcoming space to bring your full self, explore with kindness, and rediscover presence and ease.

My first session

To help you see whether we’re a good fit to work together, I offer a free 20-minute discovery session, online or in person. It’s a relaxed chance to meet, ask questions, and get a feel for the space. If it feels right to continue, later sessions let us settle in, go deeper, and find a rhythm that suits your pace.
