About me and my therapy practice
Hello, I'm a Child & Adolescent Counsellor and Parent-Child Therapist. I work with parents and children (up to age 17, including babies and during pregnancy).
Sessions can be with parent and child or with just the child (depending on their age). I work with a range of issues with which children and parents struggle.
My training is in integrative arts. We can make use of creative materials, such as a sand tray, clay, painting, and drawing.
Sessions may be play-based, including Theraplay® (for parent and child).
I’m also a Registered Circle of Security-Parenting™ Practitioner (parent/s only).
Theraplay® and Circle of Security-Parenting™ seek to help parents / caregivers better understand the relational nature behind the child’s behaviour which is often the focus of the referral.
For couples, we follow the Gottman Method, a structured and relational programme built on several years of research evidence. Sessions provide a safe space in which to explore and strengthen shared meaning, friendship and conflict management.
Please see my website for further information.
Practice description
Therapy sessions are conducted face-to-face or online. Meetings and some assessment procedures are held via video.
My first session
We will firstly have a 20-minute discussion, either by phone or Zoom, to discuss your referral.
After this, we will have the initial consultation. We will go through intake paperwork which includes:
• General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) (encompassing such issues as safeguarding, confidentiality, privacy, and use of your data) and,
