About me and my therapy practice

My focus is on supporting you through whatever challenges life has placed in your path.

Life can sometimes feel overwhelming 鈥 whether it鈥檚 persistent anxiety and stress, feeling disconnected or stuck, carrying the weight of painful past experiences, or struggling to find your place when it feels like others are moving forward with ease. You may find yourself exhausted from putting on a brave face, masking how you truly feel, or battling feelings of self-doubt and comparison that make it hard to express your needs and set healthy boundaries.

I bring over 13 years of counselling experience to my work, offering a compassionate, down-to-earth space where you can explore what鈥檚 been holding you back without fear of judgement. I work with young people and adults alike 鈥 supporting those who have never felt truly seen, individuals questioning their worth or direction, couples navigating relationship challenges, and clients facing the lingering impact of adverse childhood experiences.

My journey through challenging childhood experiences and anxiety has deeply shaped the counsellor I am today. I understand the courage it takes to reach out for help and the impact mental health struggles can have on our ability to cope, connect, and see clearly. My approach is rooted in empathy, collaboration, and a belief that real change begins with awareness. Together, we will not only build a deeper understanding of your experiences but also focus on taking meaningful action from that awareness, moving you towards a more confident, connected, and empowered life.

My sessions aren鈥檛 about stiff, clinical conversations 鈥 they鈥檙e about creating a space where you can be unapologetically yourself.

Practice description

I aim to provide a warm, supportive space where you can explore whatever challenges you are facing 鈥 without fear of judgement. I work with adults, young people (12+) and couples, offering both in-person sessions from my private practice in Woodley, Berkshire (with free parking available) and online sessions for those preferring remote support.

I understand how difficult it can feel to reach out for help. From your first contact, I aim to make the process as comfortable and straightforward as possible. I offer a free 15-minute telephone consultation to give you the chance to ask questions and get a feel for whether working together feels right for you.

I work with a Humanistic Integrative approach, meaning I tailor sessions to you, rather than expecting you to fit into a set model. I believe in building a real, trusting relationship where you feel safe enough to share what鈥檚 really going on. I am here to listen, reflect, and gently challenge where needed 鈥 helping you make sense of your experiences and move towards the changes you want.

Clients often tell me they appreciate that our sessions feel natural, not clinical or formal. You are welcome to bring all parts of yourself into the room 鈥 whether that鈥檚 anger, sadness, hope, humour, fear, or confusion. Together, we explore not just what's happening on the surface, but what鈥檚 going on underneath, at your own pace.

In sessions, you can expect a balance of exploration, understanding, and support to move forward. Awareness is powerful 鈥 and I believe therapy is about turning that awareness into meaningful action, not just talking without change.

I am currently welcoming new enquiries and offer flexible daytime and evening appointments to fit around busy lives.

My first session

Before arranging a first session, I offer a free 15-minute telephone conversation. This gives you the chance to briefly share what you鈥檙e looking for support with, ask any questions, and get a feel for whether I am the right counsellor for you 鈥 or for your child, if you are enquiring on their behalf.

The first full counselling session is charged at the usual session rate. There is no pressure or expectation during this time. Many clients use their first session to simply 鈥渟pill out鈥 whatever has been building up inside 鈥 to say the things that may have felt too overwhelming or confusing to voice until now. This is absolutely welcome.

These are your sessions, not mine. You decide what you want to bring, how much you want to share, and the pace at which we work. My role is to create a safe, supportive environment where you can be yourself without fear of judgement.

Together, we will begin to make sense of whatever you bring. We will also explore what you hope to gain from therapy and how we can move forward in a way that feels right for you.
