About me and my therapy practice

Life is a deeply personal journey, full of highs, lows, and unexpected turns. Whilst these experiences can shape who we are, they can also leave us feeling overwhelmed, anxious, stressed, or stuck.

If you are navigating emotional turbulence, unexpected changes, indecision, or uncertainty, or simply seeking clarity - you don’t have to do it alone.

This is a space where your story can be heard fully and without judgment and together, we will explore both the conscious and unconscious patterns that may be influencing how you think, feel, and respond.

Through insightful and reflective conversations, we’ll begin to untangle what’s holding you back and shine a light on the way forward towards the outcomes and the life you want for yourself, with a greater sense of confidence, and hope.

With many years of therapeutic experience, I draw from a range of approaches to create a plan tailored to you...one that puts you fully at the centre of the process. Together, we will work with the mind–body connection and tap into your innate strengths and capabilities, many of which you may not yet realise you possess. This support can help you move towards how you want things to be, while also guiding you in what you need to do to get there.

Practice description

Short or longer term support is available depending on what feels right for you, and we can explore this together at our first session.

I also offer single session therapy, please contact me for further information.

I can sometimes offer concessionary rates.

You can expect from me warmth, understanding, confidentiality, and complete acceptance of who you are, along with the reassurance of someone who is genuinely on your side.

My previous counselling roles include a sexual trauma charity where I was lead counsellor, an NHS staff wellbeing scheme, a national bereavement charity, and a womens’ centre. All of these roles have given me experience and understanding of the impact of sexual abuse, physical abuse, emotional abuse, workplace stress and concerns, grief and loss and I work with these in a way that prioritises client safety, is trauma-responsive, sensitive and trauma-informed.

I am also a supervisor with a strong interest in supporting student counsellors on their journey to and beyond qualification, qualified supervisor and professionals in emotionally challenging role. Please see my Supervisor page for more information.

Face to face and online appointments from a range of platforms are available from a confidential setting within my home, which is a short distance from Shrewsbury Town Centre. Onsite parking is available. I can also provide Telephone Counselling.

About me and my therapy practice

I’ve been a therapist for many years, offering warm, confidential support for trauma, loss, stress, anxiety, and life’s many transitions and challenges. My work is about helping people understand how and why they feel the way they do, while supporting them to uncover their strengths and navigate change with compassion.

As a supervisor, I have a strong interest in supporting student counsellors on their journey to and beyond qualification. I have extensive experience of student placements and a wide understanding of course criteria and requirements from a range of training providers/universities and colleges. I was Placement Lead for a charity supporting survivors of sexual abuse, where I also held the roles of Lead Counsellor and Designated Safeguarding Lead.

I also offer supervision to qualified counsellors and professionals in emotionally challenging roles

I have held senior roles in family support, gaining extensive experience in supporting and safeguarding children, young people, and vulnerable adults. I have also held long-term counselling roles within a national bereavement charity, a women’s centre and, an NHS staff wellbeing scheme.

My supervision approach is grounded in Person-Centred theory and enriched by a range of therapeutic perspectives. I offer a warm and safe space for reflective and insightful exploration, where together we can recognise both conscious and unconscious patterns within the therapeutic relationship, manage emotional demands, and reflect on practice and personal reactions. This supports your growth and development as a counsellor while ensuring safe and ethical practice.
