About me and my therapy practice
A beautiful setting in nature at The Barn. A peaceful space for counselling, equine assisted therapy, clinical supervision and wellbeing retreat days. Supported by Your Mental Wellness online mental health programmes.
Counselling provides you with a supportive, confidential and safe environment where you will be valued and listened to. An effective form of therapy, it can help you make positive changes to your life and deal with issues that may feel overwhelming or are causing you emotional pain, unhappiness or stress, helping you gain more insight into understanding yourself and your problems whilst finding solutions that are right for you.
I am an experienced counsellor, clinical supervisor and trainer, working from a Person-Centred modality with techniques from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Transactional Analysis, Solution Focused Brief Therapy, Attachment Theory and The Rewind Technique for trauma (PTS/PTSD/CPTSD) to support each person in the best way for them. I have experience counselling a wide range of issues including low self-esteem, confidence, grief, loss, depression, anxiety, stress, specializing in trauma and abuse. I believe that everyone has the ability to reach their unique, full potential and lead a fulfilling life in a way that is right for them.
Equine Assisted Therapy is working with beautifully intelligent and intuitive horses to create a deeper level of understanding of our emotions, interactions and behaviour. Proven to be especially beneficial for trauma and for those looking to improve teamwork and leadership skills.
Your Mental Wellness is a fabulous, online version of my mental health awareness and wellbeing training sessions in easily accessible mini and intensive courses. The perfect way to achieve and maintain mental stability to reduce the likelihood of reaching crisis point, helping you to navigate your own mental health.

Practice description
I am fully qualified, insured and a registered member of the governing body of Íø±¬ÃÅ (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) and am on the accredited register of the Professional Standards Agency.
I have a clear Enhanced DBS Certificate.
I offer both short term and longer term individual counselling and personal therapy sessions for student counsellors. I work with businesses for EAP provision and provide invaluable case supervision for Designated Safeguarding Leads.
I provide clinical supervision to counsellors and those working in other disciplines by working with theories of integrative & person-centred supervision as well as other models such as Shohet and Hawkins' 7 Eyed Model. This supports the supervisee by looking at their own systems, self-care and ways of working, helping them to maintain ethical and safe practice and ultimately ensure the needs of the client are being met.
My practice is based at:
The Barn, Alfreton Road, Little Eaton, Derbyshire, DE21 5AD.
Set in the beautiful and peaceful setting of the barn and stables with countryside views, fabulous for our mental health.
Appointments are available at The Barn on Tuesdays & Thursdays 12-6pm (other times may be available).
There is free parking on-site.
