I am available for face to face meetings and online weekdays and early evenings. I do, however, have some flexibility to enable me to work outside of these times where necessary.
I am available early mornings from 7.30 am for working people and young people needing to attend before school. Also, I have appointment times after school for Adolescents (Teenagers) who find these times more convenient and early evenings for all clients needing greater flexibility.
You can meet with me at an allocated Therapy room in central Bristol or at my consultation room in Westbury on Trym, Bristol. (parking available)
I also offer online consultations using Google Meet to allow you the convenience of working with me to fit round the context of your wider life.
My current fees are £75 per session and the fees are the same face to face or through online sessions.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapist, (CBT), Psychotherapist/Solution Focused Hypnotherapist. 28 years of experience working with adults and adolescents (teenagers) in the NHS (CAMHS) and other settings, makes me uniquely placed to support your wellbeing within a nurturing environment. I will make sure you feel heard, valued, understood and supported to explore your your thoughts, feelings and behaviours (what you do) and inspire positive change.
I have specialist skills in working with Adolescents and Teenagers who may need support with the transition into adulthood. I have great compassion for this period of inevitable change, as growing up within the current climate requires a wide range of skills to help them navigate the journey in the most fulfilling and enjoyable way possible. I work with the most common presenting problems such as anxiety, EBSA (Emotionally Based School Avoidance), depression, stress management, panic attacks, ADHD, ASC, OCD. ( I have worked both clinically and within schools and other services to support change with these issues, supporting families and carers alongside their young people).
Also, I have worked extensively with adults who are experiencing issues such as anxiety, depression, stress management, panic attacks, ADHD, ASC, OCD and addictions etc. My experience and skill set supports me to work effectively with all these issues across the age range.
Change can be difficult, however I have spent much time over my working life to identify the most effective ways of supporting my clients to change and how to make therapy a rewarding and fulfilling experience. This is qualified by the extra training I have sought throughout my career to support my wish to provide the best, most effective interventions possible.

How I work?
I use Psychotherapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Solution Focused Hypnotherapy to offer you a therapy approach that best suits your needs. I work in a bespoke manner, thinking creatively and reflectively in consideration of age, gender, sexuality, culture, disabilities, religion and spiritual beliefs and practices.
Approach
I am able to work with you over the short or long term, focusing primarily on present and future-orientated treatment, but with the opportunity to explore your past and how this can programme the conscious and unconscious minds to have a powerful bearing on your life today, both positive and negatively.
Specific issues like anxiety, EBSA (Emotionally Based School Avoidance), depression, stress management, panic attacks, ADHD, ASC, OCD and addictions etc, can also be selectively treated if you want to focus on managing issues that have become problematic and are acting as an obstacle to your life moving forward.
As a clinician, I have extensive experience of completing assessments, formulations and interventions for most mental health presentations, including psychological, emotional and behavioural issues. Working for many years in multi-disciplinary teams within the NHS and other services has afforded me a wide experience and perspective of medical, systemic and family, individual, group, psychological and behavioural disciplines.

At the initial session together we can work out what you want and what you would like to achieve in your time working with me. The art of finding out what you want to focus on is key to making therapy a richer experience.
I have a range of ways of identifying what you will need using both discussion, assessment, formulation and questionnaires to support interventions for you outlining specific issues you want to change or work through. I will support you to find out what you need, to help us to focus on identifying key areas of your life that you want to work on. I use formal approaches to therapy but I do naturally have a relaxed and informal approach that will support you to feel comfortable and confident within the therapy process.
Summarising:
With so much experience of reflective practice I would look to utilise all, or some, of the approaches that I have previously mentioned, to create a format that will work for you. Everyone responds and benefits from different approaches to therapy. There is no one size fits all, hence the benefit of my experience in a multitude of disciplines and ways of working.

Since 1996, I have worked in various therapy settings, including with adults of all ages, adolescents ( teenagers) aged between 11 and 18 years, their parents and families. I have previously worked in the NHS in CAMHS (Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service) and other services as a therapist, consultant, trainer and service developer.
